or even the 6 disc? nothing i have read has said that either has mp3 capabilities, but nothing has explicitly said it cannot play mp3s.but i test drove an '05 vibe this afternoon and the salesguy said the standard cd player could play mp3s.just looking for a definitivfe answer. thanks.first post......
Nope - won't do it.They had to save something for the '06...You can order the '06 head units that play MP3s online. I think they run $600 or so. http://mnrelectronics.com/pa10deamcdmp.htmlI bet this is what you'll see in next year's Vibe.

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Well, the MP3 player at least made it to kbb.com when looking up a 2006 Vibe...Radio, AM/FM Stereo w/CD & MP3387.20 (invoice)440.00 (MSRP)Includes Monsoon Speakers.Of course, GM still reserves the right... So they can change equipment availability.

I looked up the 05 vibe on the kbb.com and options are listed for power seats, one for driver seat only and an option for both front seats. I found that the Vibe doesn't come with power seats at all, so don't rely on kbb.com for accurate information.

Quote, originally posted by Pick »That's cool, but my 05 sure didn't, My 04 S-10 would, took those CD-rw disks and tried them in the Vibe, nope.It will - you just need to burn your CD-RW slowly... a good rule of thumb is the older the reader, the slower you should burn. And then each brand of media and burners tend to have different results. Nothing like a standard that isn't.
I understand that, but the stock radio in my 04 S-10 played the CD-rw, i then took it from my truck and put it in the Vibe and it wouldn't play it, it was not in mp3 format neither, odd
Many times it is the particular Media you are working with and not the speed you burn at. I used 12x CDRW media in mine, could not say the coloration to the disc offhand though.Different lasers read different media with more or less success. Just a matter of trying a few till you find one that works.Quote, originally posted by Pick »I understand that, but the stock radio in my 04 S-10 played the CD-rw, i then took it from my truck and put it in the Vibe and it wouldn't play it, it was not in mp3 format neither, odd
