short ram stops in the engine bay. your filter would land about where the stock airbox is now.cold air intake goes down into the lower fascia, and the filter lands right above the foglamp. cold air intakes tend to yield better results in terms of power gains and response...but the filter is much harder to access for maintenance.the electric supercharger is crap. stay away.

Cold air is always better for an engine however you could I am sure get a shorty and run duct work from behind the fascia to the filter under the hood. Hydrolock would be less of an issue this way too. That is what I would do...Had to make a shield for my 1998 Z24 CAI from water. It too resided behind the front fascia. I took it off for the winters. using a shorty you will still see gains since you are eliminating all the stock restrictive duct work.
