It's an awesome car!! You can get the car for well under MSRP in the states, so I'm hoping it's the same way up in Canada.

Ever since they introuduced the C-5 Corvette -they can distinctly place that body style where the sun never hits!!. It is plain ugly--with that rear end that looks like it was backed into a brick wall and the VW style centered exhaust is an eyesore. Bring back Vettes of the late 60's and early 70's.

I was hoping they would do something special, but it's just a badge this year. Nothing really seperates this car from those last year or the year before. I want 500 hp or something for the anniversary.
I went to my dealer yesterday for my 1st oil change (go here formre details http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2436 ) and it have 2 Vettes in the show room. Both are convertible and dark red. 1 have an auto tranny and the other the 6 speed manual. They are sweat but not very usefull. Only 2 places and this car is not built for winter driving.
As you can tell by my sig, I have one and they are far from being versatile vehicles, but the Coupe with the hatch holds quite a bit of stuff and most importantly, it hauls some major azz. About snow driving, it's not the ideal vehicle, but you'd be very surprised with the capability of the car with some good snow tires. The active handling, ABS, and traction control systems are very advanced. Mated with a superb chassis the car is quite capable in the white stuff 9 (as long as there's enough ground clearance)

Like Quikag, I, too, have a Vette as my "summer driver". The point you make about practicality is true enough, but, the general concept of the "sports car" has very little to do with practicality. Having said that, the Vette is one of the more practical sports cars out there. Like Quikag said, the trunk is HUGE, and the front/rear balance is nearly perfect - combined with the standard ABS and Active Handling, this is probably one of the most predictable and forgiving cars I've ever driven. It's not meant to be an SUV, but in moderate snow with proper tires, it is VERY driveable.
I think that the 50th anniversary corvette's are available with a new suspension where the shocks are filled with a fluid that has miniature metal particles throughout. The computer applies different voltages to the shocks which effectively changes the weight of the oil in the shock. Pretty COOL if you ask me!From cozy to corner carver with a flick of the switch. Or it will automatically adjust based on driver input in a fraction of a second.Jason
Yep, Magnetic Ride Control. It's probably going to be close to factory equipment on the C6 and will be introduced in many of GM's models. It's a genius system.

I can't wait to see the C6 and its features. I wonder if there will be any different displacements offered. Such as a 5.7 base and a 6.0 Liter Z06...One of these days I'm going to get one for myself...Jason
No one outside a very few select people at GM have ANY clue as to what's in store. There has been a lot of speculation, but little to no concrete evidence. The interior is supposed to be much nicer, weight should be down, and horsepower should be up. That's all anyone knows for certain. It's going to rock the world from what little I do know...
