2006 Pricing; Equipment

A couple weeks ago I made the mistake on kbb.com of reading the AWD pricing thinking it was the base and mis-assumed a big 2006 increase. Looked today and - can it be - seems that the 2006 pricing is lower. Ex. 2005 Base with AT and Power Pkg is $19,390 msrp, 18,049.30 invoice. 2006 Base with AT and Prefered Package is $18,390 msrp, 17,154.05 invoice. The Preferred Pkg option is $550 vs $850 for the former Power Pkg. Is the 2006 Preferred Pkg different from the old "Power Pkg"? Have they deleted some standard equipment? I must be doing something wrong.

GM lowered the pricing on all their 2006 models to be more competetive. Hence the reason for the employee price for everyone push -- gotta clear out the more pricey 05 models to make room for the lower priced 06.
