ram air intake on a 2004 base vibe

Post by keith »

just wondering if it's possible to install a ram air intake on a 2004 base model vibe even though description of those found on ebay suggest it is for a GT model.

I could be wrong, but from what I have read theres the ram air hood, then all you have is the cai. If its just those two things then a base could do it.

So....I was thinking here... If you get lets say the ingen cai then get a ram air hood, the air filter would be no where near the ram air, correct? soo for the ram air hood to be used at full potential wouldnt you "need" a short ram air intake? ARG id like to see a dyno of a ingen w/ ram hood and a short cai with ram hood, if there is even that much of a difference. any ideas?

sorry i should have been more specific about my question. I am actually just looking for a Ram Air Intake and most of them are listed for Vibe GT models. So I was wondering if that would fit a base model 2004 Vibe?

K&N make the short ram i think, but there are probably more. ingen and aem make the one that goes into the bumper behind the fog lights. Yes both are available on the base vibe.

Buy a CAI from Cosmo Racing in Montreal for $105.00 US and "Get er done". Ebay or online, same price. Short rams suck hot air which is not a berry goood!

damm, no one answered the question.i too am interested in this now. ALOT of the ebay intakes suggest gt fitment. I don't feel like paying out the a** for a short intake. so, would a short ram intake suggested for a gt work on the base model?
