Where did this nut come from?

I thought some of you guys that have taken the dash apart would know what this is. Not the dime The plastic nut next to the dime. It has grooves cut in the top for a standard or phillips head. It was on the front floor on the passenger side.

It's the front passenger kick panel. If you get down low and look straight ahead, you'll see where the kick panel goes over a scre sticking out. This is not a nut in the true sense, as it does not screw on. Just push it on to lock.

I don't know why, but I've had that silly nut pop off on its own several times. lol! I think one popped off and is gone for good now on my car, over on the driver's side...

Mine must have popped off too when it was new. I found it, threw it in the glove box and just two months ago discovered where it went. My car is an 03 too! Still in place now. Those crazy jamb nuts just want to jump ship all the time!
