My neighbors' pine trees suck.

I have never seen so much tree sap on a car as I saw on mine this morning. I had no less than 10 spots on the hood and 5 on the windshield, all no less than 1/4" in diameter and stacked up so high they looked like clear beads on my car. It took me 45 minutes to scrub it all off with the bug and tar remover, luckily it was still soft or it would have taken even longer.I am so sick of these trees. The birds that perch in them poop all over my car...lightning hit one of them last year and blew all the bark off of it and into my car, gouging marks on the top of the passenger's side door area all the way down to the metal...I have pine needles in every single nook, cranny and crevice even remotely accessible from the outside of the car, including *down behind the taillights* and they're all over the engine compartment...and they aren't even our trees! Grr...I'm hoping I got it all off...some of them were starting to leave halos which I *think* came off but I'm not sure... I'm thinking Miss Marcie's gonna be in need of a major paint job eventually...and surprisingly it's not all NUMMI's fault.

I hear your pain, my mom has a bunch of pines and none of us ever park under them. Why not get a car cover? It can be a pain putting it on and off all the time, especially if it's windy, but it sure beats wiping off sap for 30 mins.

We moved about a year ago, and at our old place there were cottonwood trees all over the place. Lots of sappy sh@#$# in the spring, and a wonderfull snowstorm like cotton droppings in the summer.I don't miss those at all!

Found two more spots this afternoon, *after* I had washed the car twice...one on the moonroof which should be easy to get off with invisible glass, and one on the roof of the car... It's all rainy now so I can't do much about it, but at least I had to stand on the doorsill to see the one on the roof so it's not too noticable.

If the tree limbs are overhanging your property, you can legally cut them down (but not in a way that is detrimental to the health of the tree).

That'd be hard, unfortunately, because we'd basically have to shear the sides off of 5 trees to do that, and I'm sure that would probably be detrimental to their health...LOLThey did finally cut down the one that was half on our property, half on theirs...I always told mom we should "encourage" them to do so by decorating just our half at Christmas, since the lady is so particular about her landscaping and the way things look.

I understand completely. I have to park my car under a large pine tree and close to a tree that produces some sort of berry that when consumed by a bird and turned to feces will tear a hole in an aircraft carriers paint job. Thats why I got a car cover...
