Hi everyone, I just went about replacing the stock HU in a '03 moons/toons but when I started up to test my new unit, I got no audio! The new CD player starts up and has power but I am getting absolutely no signal to any of the speakers. I got it from Crutchfield and followed the directions to the t, so I have no clue what's up. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head are maybe it had something to do with the 12 pin connector that was disconnected from the back of the old HU and not used again. Unfortunately I am not a genius at this stuff although I have installed CD players in other cars before. Any ideas from the Vibe gurus, before I call some guy at Crutchfield?
You need to hook up the amp turn on lead from your new head unit to one of the wires in the Vibe's harness. I don't remember which one though. When we installed a deck in my friend's old '03 Vibe Crutchfield told us what to do so you should just give them a call. Once you hook up the wire the M&T amp will turn on. Since the Vibe was brand new at the time Best Buy didn't know about the need for a turn on wire... my friend ended up getting a credit for his Kenwood since we thought it didn't work. They never even bothered to test it...
