what the hell?"Thanks for your interest in Google Earth, but we're sorry we can't offer you a download right now. As you know, Google Earth is in beta, and we're still building out our ability to take on new users. We're making good progress, and expect to be able to accept new downloads shortly, so we recommend you check back daily at earth.google.com. We hope to be able to welcome you and other new planet surfers soon."

I'm downloading it right now . . . google is doing some fun ****, ever look at Google labs? We did the "gizoogle" on our Redline forums, it made some pretty funny stuff up for us.I want G-mail but it seems like it'll NEVER come out of beta testing. I know one of my professors at school used it . . . (removed).
I've watched some folks at work playing around with it, kinda impressive. Pity it doesn't run on real operating systems though, so i can't use it. (removed)

I've been having a blast with it. I'm going to start another thread with interesting locations. Hopefully people post "kmz" files with fun places.
All i can say is WOW! So much for finishing up this years' compliance stats today! The dining and lodging layers are awesome too! I now spit in the general direction of Mapquest. I hope that ad littered site goes under. How well is it running on everyone's computers? I have a pretty powerful machine at work and it works like butter! I also have a 9.7mb download rate from google here too. I'm almost afraid to try this program out on my laptop and dsl at home .
I like it but I noticed that some of the maps have diappeared since the beta version they had on google before. Like before I could see my Mom's house in OK and now it is all blurry green an brown and that's it. Otherwise, this is a pretty sweet little program!

I wonder if it'll automatically follow you around if you were to drive with it on your laptop?doesn't it need a live internet connection though? unless you live in a city where there's never a dead area for wi-fi, or use internet through your wireless phone, i can't seeing that being a useable feature.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
so what kind of genvibe thing can we do with this google earth? Maybe meets should be advertised along with a kmz/kml of the meet place. What else?Is this where the Ohio meet is?

I can get to the net by wiring my gps phone to my laptop. I was just wondering if anyone else had tried it yet.
