Window & Moon Roof Wiring?

Post by MoonDogg »

I am considering installing an alarm with remote start etc. Well I want to also install window roll down modules. I need to know the wiring diagram for the window motors and possible the moon roof. I plan on hooking them up on different channels to open them independently. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yeah that would be kewl... sence then.. I got a company car and don't drive the vibe much... but still got it. . and still considering the alarm/remote start... sence if we sell one of our cars it will be my wife's and my car will be "our" car... so if you got it yeah... I can definently use it...

Alarm / remote start I can tell you. Windows you need to get from someone with a service manual.

You may be better off letting a professional install that, I consider myself to be pretty decent with wiring and everything but I wouldn't trust myself messing with the window switch wiring.

I only seem to have the moonroof diagram , there is some other info about the moonroof limit switches and stuff in http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9101Can't seem to find the actual power window diagram, this attachment is close, but not quite.

technically I am a professional... I own(d) a car audio buisness (long story but have not done anything in a while but still have my connection to buy stuff at wholesale) ... I have install some alarms and remote starts before.. but never the roll down modules... But I got a friend who is a electronics genius... so with the schmatics... I think we can figure it out... I have downloaded all the one's posted... if anyone has anymore that would be awesome.. I am also going to install a T-Harness for the remote start.. so is not to cut the ignition wires.... If anyone wants the part number... let me know I will get it for ya...

You are a professional?!? my advice would be to take it to yourself and let yourself wire it.

The diagram joatmon provided is what you need to do the door windows. The connector it's showing is in the driver door. To get the driver window, you need to bring wiring into the driver door, because the switches drive the motors directly. You -might- be able to catch the other three windows in the driver kickpanel

There is a T-Harness available for the Vibe?Yes please, I would love the part numbers.I just got my 2005 Vibe AWD and will want to put in a remote start for it. I can do the wiring on my own but after tackling my Explorer with manual transmission I kinda burned out on cutting/splicing the ignition harness. I detest cutting anything original if it can be helped.TIANite

MoonDogg, in addition to T-Harness availability, what type of system are you planning to install?I am interested in a 2way starter with the ability to roll up/down the windows myself but I would like to find out if any of the 2way remotes are capable of telling you current position of the windows.Seems like an unlikely option to have but thought I would check.I know most systems use auxilary outputs to do windows and so have no way of knowing what you are actually doing on that output to give feedback on.Seems like someone could build in a status option on the remote.Say for instance you press a button for an option once and it displays on or off on the LCD and if you press it twice it will change that option state. The only vendor I know of that does a T-Harness is Bulldog and they do not list the Vibes. I could make my own harness easily enough once I have the wiring info and a source for connectors.Thanks.

- You probably won't find a t-harness for the Vibe- You won't find a system that will tell you the position of the windows. Mostly because there's nothing that reports the position of the windows. I don't even know if there are limit switches that regulate when the window is up or down..

Quote, originally posted by Jahntassa »I don't even know if there are limit switches that regulate when the window is up or down..Pretty sure there isn't, because if you listen hard enough, when the window is fully up or down, and you hit the button, you can hear it trying to push it even though it can't go any further.Crazy toyota design i tell ya.

I would not expect sensors to tell if a window is up or down, just an indicator of the last state in the receiver for that option. It would be a function of the transceiver. The power window modules get a signal to either go up or down from the main unit. If you have it set to go all the way up or all the way down then you will reliably know what the current state of the windows is (barring malfunction of course) by knowing what the last sent command for that option was.Not really a hard thing to implement in these systems, the question is just "have they done it?"

Aaaah...I see what you're getting at... I don't think i've seen that..and if I have, it was probably on a Compustar.. Though I don't think it was..
