It's not a different angle on the throttle body, there is an extra vacuumm hose that needs to hook up to the CAI and there is nowhere to hook it up to. I don't want to hack up a perfectly good CAI just to "try" that out If I pay that much for it, it should fit right out of the box (at least those are my thoughts on it).

I'm sure they could...I just don't want to chance it. Mainly just wondering if anyone has a CAI for an 05 and what it is if they do have one.Posted mainly for curiosity.

I think we have to just wait until there are more '05s on the road and demand will bring in the aftermarket parts. All we can do is let the aftermarket know we're here and want the stuff! The DBW conversion really screwed us on popular vibe intake modifications.
did the '05 matrix differ in this respect? if so, then you will all probably be SOL. even though the 03/04 intakes are listed for the vibe, they are still for the matrix...

Nope. Mine is a $50 eBay, blue light special, two piece convertible model. I can use it as a CAI or a Short Ram. I was listed for a '03 -'04 Corolla/Matrix XR. It works perfect since I don't have the smog thingy to contend with and I have a cable throttle.
