squirrel point of view

Post by gargoyle »

Since we all like pics... here ya go...Had my Vibe about 2 weeks now... love it so far! No problems yet... except for the stuff that I'm finding out is no longer included (with the 05's), like roof rack crossbars and the extra outlet that used to be in the center arm rest compartment. Is there anything else that I should know about that I don't have?

Well, according to some members on here, you don't have a very good looking front end.You might have DBW (drive by wire) not all '05's do. Pop the hood and look for a cable from the gas pedal to the thottle body. If it's not there, you have DBW, if it is, you have a good old faithful thottle cable. If you got Moons & Tunes, you might have the intergrated sub. Open the rear hatch and see if there is a large speaker intruding into your cargo space. You have extendable sunshades that the '03s/'04's didn't have, as well as a twin nozzle rear window washer.Other than the missing parts (rails, and the 12 v dc outlet) I can't think or anything else....

you can easily add that stuff back.1) there is usally somebody looking to get rid of the crossbars in teh fore sale forum.2) adding teh auxiliary outlet back is a sub $20 mod and easy to do it yourself as long as you can operate a wrench. search for that topis in electricalwelcome to teh club!

You also don't have the center console extension. Your console sits down too low to comfortably rest your elbow on it, right? So does mine! Apparently the older Vibes and all Matrixes (how do you spell the plural of Matrix? ) have an extension that raises up the top lid and also gives you an extra little cubby to store pen, paper, or whatever. After doing research on genvibe- found out that 05s don't have it. The good news is that you can order it from Toyota or try and find one in a junk yard.
