I had a few bumper paint chips. I will have to do something. What would be recommended? The 3M tape? Someone on ebay wants 165 bucks for a set that will cover the front bumper and hood, mirrors, fenders...or what about a bra? I thought about a bra, but wouldn't that damage the paint to? Which idea would be best and is 165 alot for the 3M tape?

Bra's do damage your paint but so can the 3m tape if you messup putting it on. Might look around but last i heard the clear bra was $500 so thats a good buy if its still that price.

I paid less then $200 canadian for the black Bra for my 04 Vibe. There are two choices from GM, one has the Pontiac symbol on the front in red and the other does not. I bought the one without as it was a little cheaper, not much. Don't pay $500 for one, your being ripped off and I got mine straight from the dealership.I use mine for the long trips, but have 3M on the hood of my car, very helpful IMO and you can't even really tell its there.

My bra cost a lot more than that... Not really. I think it was less than $200, from the dealership. Then I put it on and went to shut the hood..... Forgot the hood wasn't spring loaded but bar propped. Bent the hood....so several more hundred dollar bills to repair. But the good news is the paint seems to be good on the hood now.

I'd forgotten about it until this post, that was a couple years ago. Wish they had the after market hoods then. Probably wouldn't of been much more to get one of those.

ooooo.. a front end bra.... what a novel idea. Too bad GM hasn't put one out for the 2005s yet. But, hey, all the lil grey pox marks on the front of the car makes it look like it has freckles...hjwii

The 03-04 bra should fit the 05 as the ONLY difference is the grill itself while still having the exact same front end shape/size I would imagine. But GM makes the 03 and 04 bra, I don't see why they would not have an 05 one soon.

Which idea would be best and is 165 alot for the 3M tape?i've used both on various cars. i had a black bra on my grand am and it didn't damage anything. i just made sure that i took it off twice a year to wash and wax the car good underneath, clean it and put it back on. i now have a clear bra on my new subie and it seems to do pretty well except i messed up when i installed the hood. the clear bra is nice as you can't hardly tell it's there. however, it's very difficult to install so I strongly recommend having a professional do it. try rockblocker.com where i bought my kit. they do a great job, inexpensive and ship out quickly. and for a full kit for the vibe, you'd be looking about $300 more than likely including shipping. i've seen the kit and it looks pretty intense to install yourself!
