Hi guys this is my first post. I am now the proud owner of an 03 Base Vibe 5spd as of yesterday. I am very interested in supercharging my (not in the next 6 months but probably the next year). Anyway, I read up all I could find on here about the TRD and GM superchargers. So far I have gathered that the are essentially the same with the exception of the computer. I also read somewhere that a Matrix computer can be swapped for the Vibes computer. Can anyone confirm this? I was also at TRDUSA.com and saw two different superchargers. The first one was PN 00602-17620-106 and is listed as vehicle install kit 03 Matrix Manual. It was priced at $1073.The second one is near the bottom with PN 00602-17620-101 and is just listed as 1Z 1.8L Supercharger. So which one is it? Is it both? I hope not!! I did search for this stuff but I couldnt find anything, so if someone knows, let me know.
One is most likely for the manual and the other for the auto trans. As you've read, they are the exact same thing (Vibe S/C abd TRD S/C) with the only difference being the ECM(ECU) computer. Good luck with your search and welcome to Genvibe!

Ok that is probably it. Thanks Do you know if the Vibe and the Matrix ECU can be swapped? I just want to use the TRD S/C becuase I can save about $400 over the GM S/C and the ECU is only about $100-$125 on Car-Parts.com. So I can save anywhere from $275-$300 in the end. Thanks again guys!!

actually the first price you listed is for the superchargers piggyback ecu which is different on auto and manuals and for different years.so you would need both parts you listed then swap your cars ecu with a matrix(im assuming what you found on carparts was the car ecu and not the supercharger ecu) or if your not worried about warrenty get a unichip for the supercharger around 850$ dont get the first item you listed because the unichip replaces it. and the main supercharger assembly and you wont need to swap ecu's. do a search for supercharger and unichip here for more info
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!
IIRC, there was a guy around here who bought JUST the supercharger unit from TRD, and got the unichip setup, and altogether it cost him about half what it would to have GM do it.
