Another GT Clutch Slipping

Post by 03VibeGT6Spd »

I was told Pontiac would contact me today, but the call never came.Last year I was assured my clutch would be takin care of if it when out even after the warranty was over.At the meet saturday It sounded Like I was S.O.L., But someone will call me!This is a problem with our cars not are driving GM needs to stand up and fix it.I'll tell everyone this, If GM doesn't pay to fix it.I'm trading it in on a new ford and will never Buy another GM product.I refuse to be screw by GM anymore.I quit using my clutch last year to prolong it's life and it still went out.

How many miles do you have on your GT? So far I have around 45k miles and my clutch is still doing well. Hopefully it will last. Sorry to hear your clutch is going out. It would be nice if GM would take care of it, but from what I've heard, people aren't having much luck with that happening. Good luck though.

I have 47k on my GT and I'm hoping I can get another 20k out of it.

It has 53k on it now.Yes, I bought it used in May 04 if I remeber correctly. It had I think 22K or 24K on it then, it had plenty of factory warranty left to correct issue's.But this issue is a factory design flaw.

I recall cyberjunkie (base Vibe) getting his clutched replaced under warranty. Here is the thread: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=16314

Did the dealer offer you a extended warranty with your purchase?Another thing is a minus is Jeff Strauser is not on the Vibe anymore, he was a good man. Yes they offered to sell me a extended warranty. No I did not buy it.Beside's the clutch isn't covered under the extended warranty.Jeff is the one who said it would be fixed, if it went out.He knows there is an issue with them. From what I understand jeff is now with one of the caddy models.Another day has gone by and still No call from GM.

I have a GT and I got my clutch and flywheel changed under warranty. I didn't have a lot of slipping per se', but I was getting a lot of the clutch burning smell even when I wasn't really giving it much gas (like trying to scoot across an intersection). They said the clutch didn't actually look too bad but they replaced it anyways. They replaced the flywheel becasue they did say they saw a few hot spots on it.Jim

Extended warranty doesn't cover the clutch. My warranty didn't cover the clutch. My clutch was destroyed at 26k. GM determined it was due to the 'driver'. Mostly because the crappy dealerships around here never put in my file that I had gone to them about the clutch slipping four times.
