yep, we wish we'd have been able to make it, but no way especially since phil's parents are STILL here! lol. perhaps next year we can fly down for a quick visit. then pop in to say hi to the in-laws. love the pics, and of course i figured Mike (raging) would be doing something to his vibe! lol. sorry, wasn't there to help with anymore cai installs, but i'm sure (from the looks of all the pics) there were plenty of help from everyone else! good job with the meet, rich, nick and the rest of you who planned it. i know after planning the ontario one last september, it's A LOT of work. you guys did a fantastic job just like last year... how many in total showed??

I probably do, heck he kinda reminds me of myself. Good kid. And it was great meeting you and the family. Had a good time there... Thanks to everyone that put the time and effort into organizing. And I learned a few interesting things along the way:[1] Michigan doesn't appear that they particularly care about giving us signs to tell us where we're going, or what road we're on, but hey - they have these cutsie little things to try to cut down on road rage because you've sat in traffic for an hour and a half!! Yeah, I could be spoiled with Indiana and ten signs for the same thing within a mile, but hey, there were several tense miles of backups in MI and we weren't sure we were even on the right road. [2] Mike's GPS-guided Vibe failed us at one point during the trip back from the meet....[3] And, depending on where you're coming from, stay the heck off 23. We didn't really have a choice on the way up, but coming back home on a different route (I-69) meant for peaceful driving! Anyway, had a good time, guys and gals... Hope to see some of you in Ohio in a couple months!

Michigan Lefts really pissed me off.No fusion Vibe representation? man that sucks. I'd have so been there with mine if I could have but... maybe as Hope says, next year. We'll show up in a rental.

Michigan lefts are good for people that know how to drift. Saw a Silvia and a 240sx drift around a double wide michigan left turn around a few weeks ago. It was BAAAAAAAD! I bet their shirts would say "I survived and made sport of the Michigan Left"

Yeah I was practically crying because it was so awsome. I've never seen real drifting in person before There're a few round-a-bouts around here. On Utica, Vandyke, and also behind Best Buy on Hall rd....they are definately tricked suckers.

If you're ever on M59 out past past Pontiac (heading towards Lansing), there are turnarounds like that every 100 yards or so; you could probably just do sweet drift loops all day long if the roads were empty and you were ballsy.I'd drifted my car before, but not on purpose; I had an '02 Firebird V6, and I passed somebody on a gravel shoulder, ended up sliding the (removed) end on the gravel while keeping the front on the pavement, it had to have looked cool For me it was scarier than **** though.

Yeah, it was a nice meet. Sorry for not staying long, but My Baby and I had to get to the annual Flint car show, too. General Motors seems to be losing interest in sending their folks to this meet and I hope that changes for next year.

Yeah, I hope GM hasn't lost interest in us completely just yet either. I only saw one person who was from Pontiac, and that was it. IMHO participating in events like this with a lot of people who are extremely devoted to one of your company's vehicles makes for some really great PR...so I definitely hope they were just busy and haven't given up on us entirely.

MI lefts are easy--it is part of a TFM (Traffic Flow Management) system. Unlike the NJ jug handles (bleccchhh) our system works, it is also complimented by our flashing red lights at intersections (this is to allow left turners to complete aturn during a signal change)...

Even after three days of driving in Michigan...I'm not sure what exactly was so strange about this "Michigan left" or what exactly people are referring to. LOLIs it the flashing red lights (which were strange but not *that* strange...heh), or the fact that sometimes you have to make a U-turn because of the median? Or neither? I'm lost.

I can't imagine getting 15 MPG instead of the miserly 16 that my car likes to deliver! Kari, I'm with you.... What the heck are youse guys talkin' about? Only left turns I saw were the ones with the LEFT TURN sign and stuff... I take it these "Michigan Left" thingies are similar to what's in NJ? Regardless, I didn't see a single one when I was up there.

The simple objective when driving is to get there as quickly and safely as possible right?Take something as simple as turning left. So you want to turn left on Easy street? Ok well merge safely into the left turn lane, wait on coming traffic to clear or if there is a green left turn lane light, wait for it. Proceed with safe to do so. Simple.Welcome to MichiganSay you want to turn left on Complicated st. Ok.. well get into the far right lane and turn right at the light. You may need to wait for crossing traffic to get a red light. (removed) you say? Turn right? I wanna turn left. Well keep your top on and I'll explain. Proceed the opposite direction down Complicated street, swirving across 3 or more lanes of traffic to get into the far left lane. See that left turn opening? Alright well there is no street light here so you gotta make it quick. Wait for a break in traffic and gun out there turning left as fast as you can. Oh keeping in mind the light you wanted to turn left at before is now red in your direction so prepare to come to a safe stop and sit some more for the green.Give me a simple left turn any day please.
