Dimming Mirror... part deux!

Post by jeffgtx »

so my $12.99 dimming mirror out of the grand prix at the junk yard crapped out.So i bought the scion mirror from toyotaparts4u.com.has integrated LED light and mood lights and 3 homelink transmitters and of course, auto dimming.its a different connector than us, so i have to snip the old connector and tie it to the new one, but the windshield mount is exactly the same.i do not have moon and tunes, so i had power up there, and i have an 05, so it cuts off after 20 minutes.its a great mirror, jsut wanted to pass that on.

Oi... $200, that's a tough sell to a guy with one garage door. It looks great though!

you cann install any auto dim mirrors. connector. there are npo known connectors that would just "clip" on to our cars since there was never a auto dim mirror offered to us. i would never shell out 200$ for one neither. any online junk jard would do fine. even ebay. sinple install. specially with the moonroof. just splice into the ign 12v and find the correct ground. a good strong ground.

i wouldn't even go to google. go to ebay. type: auto dim. click on parts and accesory for cars. usually the ending soonest display can be helpful. most of the one's i've seen on there were about 20-50$. used will always be cheaper. making sure you get one with the pigtail will be crucial. another thing is the type mount. our screens use screw mounted mirror. not camlock, or wedge type.this is ofcourse for those who are atractred to this type of mod.
