Clutch popping and Throttle by wire

One thing I've always liked about a manual is being able to "pop" the clutch to start it when the battery is dead.However, it just occured to me that the "drive by wire" electronic throttle in the 2005 Vibes might prevent me from being able to do that.Anyone have any idea if you can still "pop" the clutch to start a car with electronic throttle?

I don't know. You'd have to have enough juice in the battery for the computer, spark, etc. If the battery was down enough where it wouldn't turn over, but enough for the electronics, it probably would bump start. No juice at all, then I'd say it probably wouldn't fire. Just my guess.My Vue is a 4 cyl Ecotec with a drive by wire throttle also. One thing I noticed, and I'm not sure if it's the same on the Vibe, but there is a VERY slight delay between the accelerator being pushed down to when the servo on the throttle plate responds. Hardly noticeable, but it's there. Anyone notice that on their drive by wire Vibes?

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to...isn't the whole thing behind the "push & pop" method just getting the crankshaft and cams turning? I dunno, I could be wrong...
