Lord of the Wait

Post by 2fatty »

To all those waiting for factory ordered vibes.Post your order date. The person with the longest wait will be dubbed "Lord of the Wait" (Personally I think "The Slave" might take it).Contest Rules:1. When the "Lord of the Wait" finally takes delivery, he/she must renouce the title, and a new "Lord of the Wait" will be chosen.2. "Lord of the Wait" shall not use the title for commercial gain.3. "Lord of the Wait" shall not be mocked by others.4. "Lord of the Wait" shall not be confused with the "Lord of the Dance". That would be just plain wrong...5. Americans may enter, but why would they?

They've actually been good to me, and have been working hard to get GM to commit (in writing) that they will honour all of my GM points even though my car will arrive late January. I'll let the group know what the outcome is.

quote:Oh! right, wrong number - sorry. The Slave IS The Lord... unless anybody else raise his hand!!!All bow in my presence .... Latest update: no change in build date (week of Jan. 6), but GM will honour all of my GM points and will give me the minimum $500 discount from the "Ring in and Win" promo. I'm trying to get them to honour the 0% financing too. The dealer had to go all the way up to the zone manager (whatever that is) to get this commitment. For all my fellow Canucks in waiting - push your dealers, and keep hasseling GM. You never know what you can get until you ask.So, in summary: when my Vibe finally arrives I will have waited no less than 30 weeks (7 months). I may have to give up the crown when my Vibe arrives, but I will probably be the one with the longest reign.

I've already taken delivery, but ordered April 8, 02 and delivered Sept. 16, 02. The car is for my wife and instead of "Hi dear" when I got home, it was "Where's my car?" -ZXtra

I knew it had to come ... that day when I would have to give up the title ... It's here. At last. As of the evening of January 24, after exactly 7 months of waiting, The Slave is no longer the Lord of the Wait. An era has ended. The age of The Slave has come to an end. It is time for me to pass on the torch to a fellow Canuck. Who will come forward and claim the thrown? Who will be the new Lord of the Wait?

It's not me. Mine took 'only' 4 months. How pathetic is that? We Canadians consider 4 months to be fast. I embarked on a mission of emailing and phone calls to the NUMMI plant, from the tour operator to the production scheduler right on up to the Vice President. I had communications with a couple of NUMMI employees too. I think the production scheduler may have bumped mine up a smidge. 4 months is still absurd.

I went last Saturday on 01-18 to after looking at the dealer inventory on line. When I arrived they had only one Vibe on the showroom floor(with pinstripping). The ones GM posted where vehicle ordered but not shipped yet. The one invoiced I was looking at arrived 01-23-03. Hopefully will be prepped by tonight. Maybe I should have waited longer to make a choice, always could use more incentives! To the Canadians................"Only in America!"
