wow, what a neat little gadget i picked up. its the Motorola IHF1000 bluetooth car kit. consists of a bluetooth receiver, controller, mic and speaker.the beauty of this is that no "plug in" is required to the phone. Once you sit down in the car with your phone, it detects it and voila, you are hands free. keep it in your purse (i dont have a purse thank you very much), bag, pocket, whatever. you are still hands free. The second beatuy of this is that it comes equipped with control lines for the radio to send a MUTE signal to the radio once a call comes in or you prompt it to dial a call. and, it works on the vibe stock radio. pin A on your CD changer/aux connector, for those playing at home. The third beauty of this is that it also comes with two line output lines so you can hook it up to the stereo and run your call through it, rather than opt for mounting a standalone speaker. i opted for this option. Pins M and L.The fourth beauty is that while it mutes the radio, it still lets the phone audio through. The fifth beauty is that this all worked THROUGH the ipod2car, meaning i can still do all this with the ipod hooked up.The unit is voice operated once you press the TALK button on the controller. I have mine mounted inside our left comaprtment, where it fits nicely and can be stowed away for none to see.Now for the cool surprises.Take a look at the RADIO pic. when teh unit activates and mutes the stereo, the radio says PHONE. cool. Also, here is something that needs explaining... the radio stays on after i take the key out of the ignition and i am in a call. WHAT?!?! where did the retained accesory power come from?anyway, i highly recommend this for hands free operation, and the vibe, as always, takes to it well.Pic one:the controller.

thanks! ijust got a new toy as well. it's a wireless keyboard and mouse that moves in the air, gyration ultra mouse. i got it so i could use it in the car when i'm working or in between appts. it's pretty cool. but i've been looking for a set up like that for blue tooth myself! taht's pretty much exactly what i was wanting, so thanks for finding it! right now i have the motorola blue tooth headset and the speakerphone that i use for the car and then when i'm walking around at work or what not. have the jabra bluetooth adapter for my cell since it's not an actual bluetooth phone. but i have 2 cell phones, work and personal so i can switch it between the two.
thank you for the kind words, sir fish.Quote, originally posted by trdvibe »but i have 2 cell phones, work and personal so i can switch it between the two. the motorola kit can have up to 4 phones "paired" with it at a time. so you could have both phones in teh car and switch from wither without lifting a finger. you jsut tell it to go to phone 2.i forgot to also say that it has audible caller id. so when a call comes in, it mutes the stereo an says "incoming call from [name: if if you have that number as a voice dial] or{number: it reads the number if you don't]
I installed one of those in a Mercedes a few months back... pretty handy unit. I was amazed at how well it worked! The guy had the Motorola v710 (I think) with Verizon, like, one of their only bluetooth phones! It's really a great kit...I really need to get a better phone so I can get one!

I don't believe so... It would on ACC, but I think it would shut down unless you were in the middle of a call..

so far on mine, it killed the handfree and transfered teh call to the phone when i turned it off. the time above i had the IGN wire to an unswitched line, so it kept the call going.
that is sweet! I'm gonna have to get one now! lol. of course that also means i'm gonna have to get a true blue tooth phone! planning on setting up the sube for a true mobile office! i'm telling you, this in air mouse and keyboard rocks! i'll have to find the info on it and post it for you.
