No not selling the Vibe how be it a common tend these days...Starting tuesday I begin work at Subaru as a service advisor, same thing I did back in Ontario but now for a different company. Tuesday to saturday with Sunday and Monday off.I'm not sure what made Hope more happy since she didn't say congrats on the job, all I got was "whoo hoo, discount on Subaru parts!" So yeah... lol anyway off my lazy (removed) and back to work this coming week. Its pretty much commission only but oh well. I'm promised $3000 a month for the next three months which most places do.Oh and side note happy birthday to me. 27 now.

damn! beat me to the birthday post! was gonna post that up, oh well. and yes, of course i'm happy he got the job, but i knew (and they did) that if they didn't offer it to him, then one of the other dealerships would have (since he had another interview). and of course, it was one of the dealerships i really didn't want him working at.... only heard NEGATIVE things about them. of course, i've not heard great things about the local dealership here, but mostly because they are understaffed. this would be a new position that he would take and much needed from what i hear from the local subie guys.
Congrats on the b-day AND the new job, Mav. Mr. Goodwrench will now be just Mr. Mediocrewrench without you!27???I have clothes a decade older than that! I got married when you were 6! ROFLMAO!
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

Another wonderful thing you'll get at the Subie Store, people that realize a service survey is not for attacking the sales dept, or the manuafacter! They actually score you on how the service visit went.....unlike most of the GM owners we get. That is the one thing I miss the most about working at an import store, well, that and the fact that if the car requires mantanience, or repairs, people with an import get them fixed, they don't keep driving until it breaks down, or do take it to their cousin Bubba, who screws it up worse than it was before.

yeah though Subaru also has a CSI type system and he mentioned they were number 2 on the list. Now yeah, most people with GN vehicles see the CSI as a chance to rant about their car. The sad thing about it is that the customer could have had the most excellent treatment... but since they dislike the car, they give a bad report. I got a few of those myself and I called the customer to find out what happened because they were not angry with me. "Oh no its nothing you did, we're just frustrated with our envoy..." I explained to them the CSI was to grade me, not the car...Then you get those people who are happy with their service but can't take the 30 seconds out of their busy life to fill out a little page with completely satisfied. They don't realise how important CSI is to GM employees... some get fired for having low CSI... It looks bad when a 140 letters are sent out for you and only 40 come back, most of them rants about their car. All the happy customers are either to busy to fill one out or just tossed the letter in the trash. Its a paid postage people! Send it back! Even if you were not completely satisfied, what you put on it could help who ever is getting graded.Anyway, today I start my new job. Gotta get used to getting up and eating breakfast before 8am. To be honest though I have been getting up at 8am every morning for the past month now, practice I guess heh. I start work at 9am. Guess we'll see how this goes. They use the same ADP system I used at Andersons GM Village so at least I'll be familer with something lol. Also my folks decided to fly up here and visit, they arrive tonight. I'm kinda worried about them flying... When we asked for their flight number, my dad gave me the plane model number... They have never flown before.

Then you get some people (me specifically) who want to fill out the surveys to let the dealership know I am happy, but never get the forms. So then I call Pontiac and request one and do I ever get it??? Nope. So some of us out here who are very pleased aren't being allowed to convey that to Pontiac. I have told the Service Manager of my pleasure with his group, so I have done that. But as far as letting Pontiac know, I give up. Sorry to rant, I just had to vent. And good luck to your parents, I hope they get there safely!!!!!Enjoy the new job!!!!

I got a letter from the salesperson and a separate one from the general manager of the dealership telling me of the soon to arrive _Purchase & Delivery_ survey from GM.
Every sale in canada usually gets you a sales form to fill out about how pleased or not pleased you were with the sales process and how you like the vehicle so far.Service surveys are sent to every 1 out of every 4. So if you have 8 warranty jobs done in one day, only 2 will get a survey in the mail.

Granted it was an auto. It did handle nicely when I threw it into the corners and redlined it a couple times in 1st and 2nd gears, but it's much smaller inside than the Vibe, and left me with an overall cramped feeling. Needless to day, I didn't put down a deposit, although I may change my tune once I get a chance at test driving a 5spd next week.FYI though, the 9-7x (Saab SUV) is just a rebadged Trailblazer...not sure about the Tribeca, but I wouldn't put it past GM.
are you sure about that? it's been all over the subie forums and news that the new saab suv is the same as the tribeca. it's the awd system h6 system, NOT a trailblazer by any means!
Well I would never buy a trailblazer... just my GM experience...And my first day has been finished, was pretty uneventful really. I have a corner office with a desk I get to sit down behind. Looks like a sales person's desk lol. Got two pics of the Rally Subaru STI behind and beside me on the corner walls. I'm used to the system they use but they are showing me how things are done there. Its really kind of creepy though how it reminds me of my last job...There is one guy who laughs just like my old boss. A couple of techs look like other techs in the GM shop. The one service advisor reminds me so much of the one I worked with, those two would get along perfectly.9-6 with 1.5 hour lunch. No complaints so far!

i will most likely NEVER buy another GM product unless it were a SAAB. taking it up the (removed) with the vibe trade in still hurts when i sit! i'll stick w/ the cars that hold their resale value from now on!
Well to be fair, most know the Vibe is not an appreciating vehicle, you can tell that from the price of it and it is mass produced. Most appreciating vehicles reflect that in the sticker hence most $40,000 and higher stickers have high residuals, even GM vehicles... Also, dumping $4,000-5,000 into a Vibe or any vehicle even an appreciating one is just not a good idea. One will never get that money back and is only "best case" if someone keeps that vehicle longer than 2-3 years.

To clarify, the Saab 9-7X is built at Moraine, OH and is built on the Trailblazer platform. SAAB engineers did some major retuning for this vehicle. The Saab 9-6X is going to be based on the Subaru Tribeca.

I can't imagine averaging a new car every year. when I bought my Vibe in 12/2002, I traded in the pickup truck I bought new in 10/1985.As far as the hit you took on the Vibe, what kind of deal did you get on the Vibe when you bought it? Was the problem that the value dropped so much in the two years you owned it, or that the initial price was more than it should have been?
There is a woman who brings in her very old Subaru, its very early 80s.. a GL? or something? I don't remember off hand. Obviously she doesn't get a new car every 2 years lol.I was reading up on some Subaru material, studying the vehicles, learning their features. The STI has a larger turning circle then the Legacy. Kinda reminded me of Carrie and her SRT-4 Neon with the often used reverse gear cause she can't make those corners hehehe.

One of the bulletins GM put out about there 20" truck wheels (SEVERAL months after they started selling them....) was that turning radius would increase, ride quality would decrease, as would mileage, tire life, and braking effiency. I can't imagine how a Ford Expedition with 24"s would EVER stop....the brakes on that truck were made for an F-150, and weren't improved for the Exp body's weight....then you add even MORE unsprung weight? LOL

P224/45R17 on the STI and P215/45R17 on the Legacy GT.Yeah people fail to realise changing tire sizes and rim sizes can have more then just an effect on the vehicle's appearance. Brakes, fuel, mileage readings, everything changes. Thats why I tried to keep my 17" tires as close to stock diameter as possible. I know the rims are a little heaver so I expect not to get the normal life out of my brakes. You have people that buy those pickup trucks with those huge tires which can NOT be balanced perfectly, they complain about the vibrations and rough ride. They blame the tires... news flash lol, its the rims.
