right now my 'waifs' cd is being held hostage in my stock cd player. last saturday i put it in like normal... but it went in a little "rough"... then it started making noises like it was in pain (which even turning off the power of the cd player didn't help-- in fact, even turning off the car didn't even intially help-- but eventually silenced the absurd noise)... i push eject- nothing happens, i push the cd button - nothing happens... i stopped by the local dealership later on saturday... the repair guys had just left.... but the sales guy i chatted with was an all around rude jerk and completely unhelpfulso i stopped by monday... to which the repair guy who was there said the "guy who does the radio stuff" wasn't there, but would be back on tuesday.so, first thing on tuesday i'm headed back to the dealership with the unhelpful sales staff to see if the "guy who does the radio stuff" can release my cd from the evil grips of my cd player.... i'm actually more concerned with the safe return of my cd (which amazingly is far less replaceable that the stock radio).Has anyone else had issues with the stock radio?? There seems to only be a couple mentions in previous posts... BR

the stock single deck cd player has some issues. most the time mine doesnt eject all the way. hopefully if they replace the headunit they will remember to send you the CD after they remove it.
I've had one of my stock single disc radios (can't remember which one, i've had 3, soon to be 4) refuse to cough up the disc. The motor refused to run when hitting eject... It required shutting the car off and leaving it for a few minutes before it would fix itself. But it sounds like your car has had ample time to be turned off. So that may not be working. lol!You could try disconnecting the battery cable for five or so then reconnect... That may help the radio reset itself and give you the disc back.BTW, was this a pressed disc as from a store? Or, was it burned? If burned, don't use labels on the top of the disc. Even without labels though, I find my current radio not willing to eject certain brands of CDR's properly. The big problem right now seems to be with the new style of Memorex "cool color" CD's that I bought at walmart... SOmething about the printed stuff on top of those doesn't agree with the radio. But if you were hearing nasty noises, I would suspect something mechanical. Good luck getting it fixed.... The single disc seems to be kinda flaky!

Well, after about an hour of waiting the shop guys told me that they will be ordering me a new head unit, and have unfortunately broke my cd into multiple pieces (with the largest piece still stuck in the non-functioning cd player)... The car is only 3 months old, so i'm pretty amazed that i'm having problems with it.The cd was a normal factory made music cd... an australian import-- that i really wish they would have destroyed the player to rescue safely... but no such priorities. The new head unit should be in at the next of the week, or early next week.. i jokingly said that they could feel free to replace it with the 6 disc changer... they just laughed at that comment. (it was worth a shot though)BR

I had the same problem with my stock radio... happened a few times. I just disconnected the battery and let it sit for a while, hooked it back up and it worked after that. The 6-disc changer would have been nice! Always remember kids... it never hurts to ask.

*QUICK HIJACK*In case any of you Nav'ers are wondering... as of yet the nav disc cannot be copied. So don't waste your Dual Layer DVD+Rs. The HU won't play it and doesn't like to give them back either.
