I'm getting a second car to drive to work and to school. I don't want to put miles on my Vibe and the neighborhoods where I work aren't that good. I also want a car I can work on and learn different skills with like bodywork and other stuff like that. These are the four cars that have grabbed my attention so far.#1 1987 Toyota Supra. It needs lot of work, hardly any rust. The only problem is that I'm not sure if it's for sale. It's been sitting int he same spot in front of my work for about 3 weeks next to the rest of hte forsale cars but it doesn't have a sign or number. Nice car though.By the way, all the other cars lined up next to the ones in the pictures are also for sale but none of them grab my attention. The front of my work is like a used car lot! There's about 15 cars, trucks, and vans up there.
#2 1991 Cavalier. This car is almost perfect. only 90,000 miles, not a single spot of rust or major dents. the interrior is spotless, new wheels, tires, brakes, belts, everything. Also the sign claims it runs great. The price on the window reads $800. Unless there's somthing wrong in the engine, it's an amazing deal. I don't like Cavaliers but this one looks very nice.
#3 1985 or so Civic coupeThis car is in descent shape. Interrior looks neat, exterior has a bit of rust along the wheel wells and stuff. It has 180,000 miles from what I read on te odometer. The pait is faded, but over all it looks ok. Asking price is $950 OBO.
#4 I don't have a picture of but my friend has a 2001 Cavalier with manual trans that he doesn't drive (he drives is '95 escort). His dad drives his cavy, but if his dad lets him, he offered to sell me his cavy for like $1500. it has only about 50,000 miles. He said hte interriors a bit messy but overall its a great car. The reason he would sell it so cheap is becasue he bought it for only $2000.No pics of this one... What do you all think?
2001 Cavalier for only $1500? thats a rather low price for a car that should be worth a little more then that. Even buying it at only $2000... run the vin and see if its stolen? lol j/kThe first car, kinda has different rims on it huh lol. But out of them you need to consider which one would be the most likely NOT to be a constant visit to the repair shop. I owned a 1989 Cavalier Z24... bought it for $600 and spent over a grand on it trying to keep it running... sold it as is for $500 2 years later.

Bro I would go with the 2001 Cavy. You can do alot of mods with this car, just check out http://www.j-body.orgI had a 1996 Cavy 2 door coupe and had no problems ever with it (sorry Mavrik!) If I would have had AC in that car I would have still kept it today. The Supra is nice too....Good luck with your project

I found a few DSMs but they had problems. Of course anything with turbo is gonna be problems.I don't wanna mod the car nessisarily. I want to eithe rrestore it or rice it out big time with like spoilers on the hood and coffee can for exahust tip
I always wanted to rice out a car but not in a good way.First off I wanted to find an old rusty honda civic hatchback. I wanted to then go buy some Wal-Mart hubcaps and convert them to spinners on the rusty steel rims. Next I wanted to get the largest fartcan I could find and put that on the back. Then add a huge spoiler to the roof and three air rams, two on the hood and one on the roof, all non functional. Then I wanted to hit a hardware store up for some plastic tubing and make my own intake for the car. Next cover the car with Type R and Type S stickers, rice out the interior with cheesy little lights and gadgets. Cover the car with vinal asian designs and stuff and maybe a "Chick Magnet" sticker. And do a sloppy job tinting the windows so they peel you know... hehe. Then I would roll with my ride, music playing loud and full of static through my worn out loose speakers while proudly looking like I was King Of The Hill. But on topic, yeah, J-body stuff is really cool if done right on those cavaliers and sunfires. Great project car.

(removed), ok we tried to get pics of this but only got one of the rear end. This guy was driving a ford focus infront of me yesterday evening and his bumper looked weird. As I got closer I observed it was vinal patches done like a blue and white version of a checkered race flag. The car was already white so he had these thick sky blue vinal patches. I could also see through his back window his seats were done in the same colour scheme. As I got beside him, I also saw his "awsome" vinal job continued down the side of the car to this god awful home make front bumber/body kit which dropped to like an inch above the ground. Since he was turning left as I went straight, I never got another look to see what else was done. Hope got a pic but its of the rear/side of the car and you really can't see his work to the front bumper.

well you know when people put graphics on their car, some do it with paint, other use stickers which are made of vinal. Of course I could be spelling vinal wrong... it is only 8am lol. But what he had on his car was thicker then a sticker... (whoo hoo I am a poet) It literally stuck up and out from the body of the car, wasn't even cut evenly lol.

Quote, originally posted by ShadowRuleZ »I would hold out and try to find a 1G turbo DSM. They can get down there in price.Good suggestion - the only drawback is that if you get one too cheap more than likely needs constant TLC - I have one...bought 4 years ago..and it's awsome, but I'm always needing to do something with it...Turbo fwd 5-speed...
I need something with good gas too otherwise I'd buy one of those vans lol. TRhat one reason I didn't get the DSM is because I heard alot of problems arise from them. Of course anything witha turbo is gonna have more things wrong then non-turbo.So the 2001 Cavilier is out of the question. He doesn't wanna sell it.
theres a beautiful white one for sale in my subdivision for a mere $8000 lol. Id rather take the '71 camaro hes workin on in his drive way though instead.
