Moron (me) needs some alarm/keyless questions answered

OK folks...I (the aforementioned moron) have some questions about my vibe's security system.How do I tell if I only have keyless entry or the full alarm system? Pardon my ignorance, but I got the car used from a local wholesaler and the car had NO manual or anything else with it, so I don't really know.The panel to the left of the steering wheel has a knockout plate with a security LED and what looks like a mic for a glass sensor, but I have never heard the car honk/chirp when I goto lock/unlock the vehicle so I can not tell if this is just for the upgraded system. The LED has never flashed or lit either. There was a brief moment in time where the car would lock passively after a few seconds (maybe 30) but now that is not the case either.I have looked for programming instructions for this system, found them in numerous places and played with the programming, but to no avail.I really don't want to get into a new alarm project at this time as I am sick of doing alarms, but if I must, I must.Any help would be greatly appreciated. p.s.I have a 2003 GT...no moon, tunes...always been aftermarket since I got the vehicle

You have the security (alarm) installed. It won't go off unless you break a window, open a door after locking it with the remote (from the inside, or without the key), or open the tailgate without first unlocking it. It will NOT honk or anything when you lock/unlock the doors.
