diffrence in years

even though I work at a gm dealer we have only seen about 2-3 vibes since I have been there.now looking around between 03-05 vibes there is a 10hp gain (I think) what about between 04-05 are they the same or is there diffrence? I am talking about the gt version wondering if Is hould try to get a 05 used or het a 04 used

I think this is correct.03- 180hp04- 173hp05- 170hp

so they have been going down in hp?so is it worth it getting an 03 or go with something newer?

Depends on what you want. The engagement of lift (the second cam) which produces the real horsepower is at lower RPM's in the 03 than the 04 and 05 models. The decrease in horsepower is due most to the addition of smog control devices that rob the engine of horsepowerIf you want more performance look for an 03 with low miles

Well I guess it doesn't matter then unless the 03's are quicker due to the sooner lift engagementI'm sure Toyota/Pontiac lowered the number to appeal more to more conservative middle aged people and the soccer moms so they could get a larger market to sell to. Not quite sure why they would do it otherwise
