new owner

Post by Rivet »

Hello Vibers.I just joined the club on Tuesday (5/24/05).Got a 2005 Vibe (FWD model) with Automatic, Power Package, Moon & Tunes, and ABS brakes. It's Salsa with the gray trim (not monotone).I got a pretty good deal .... $3000 in rebates ($1000 manufacture, $1000 Conquest, $1000 Hot Button), plus $1400 dealer discount, plus $2600 from my GM card savings.Anybody have trouble parking it in a small garage? My last car was an Integra. The Vibe is much taller and a little wider. I have to check the clearances for it may be a tight fit. I'm pretty sure the antenna would still hit the door though (What a stupid place for it!!).

If the antenna makes contact anywhere above say 1/2 height on the mast, it's ok. It'll flex. Anything below the 1/2 height will put too much strain on the antenna base and could cause it to pull, possibly deforming your roof, or in an extreme situation, destroy the antenna or even rip the base out of the roof. I've seen it happen.

But that is ONE FAST DODGE though. That thing would for sure give any turbo Vibe a good run. But the redline on that car is horrid. It's redline is at like 6000 rpm's.Inder

Well, I got out the tape measure and did some checking and found out I could get it in the garage with no problems.
