Cold-Down-Easy to get FIRED!Quote » Bud distributor worker fired for drinking CoorsThe Associated Press Updated: 12:00 a.m. ET May 18, 2005DENVER - Ross Hopkins still likes to drink Bud, even though he says a brief tryst with a Coors beer cost him his job at a Budweiser distributor.Hopkins, 41, is suing American Eagle Distributing Co., saying the company wrongly fired him for drinking Coors in a bar two years ago....Hopkins, who was a warehouse supervisor for the distributor, said he was not wearing a uniform or representing American Eagle when he was at the bar in May 2003 with some co-workers. He said he had ordered a Budweiser but a waitress brought Coors. He decided to drink it because he didn’t want to wait. The son-in-law of the distributor’s majority shareholder also was at the bar, and offered twice to buy him a Budweiser, but Hopkins turned it down both times. He was fired the following Monday. If he was on his personal time, he can drink whatever he wants and it's unfair of his employer to say anything about it, IMHO. Especially since he wasn't in uniform or representing the company, I don't think they really should have had much to say about what he chooses to drink. (Although if what he said is true, he didn't choose the Coors anyhow.)That's like saying that just because you work at McDonald's, you can never eat at Burger King, even on your personal time, for as long as you are employed by McDonald's. It's ridiculous. Employers shouldn't have a say in how their employees spend their personal time.
I have never seen anyone get fired for driving a competitors car, but I have been told I had to park in a special section for foreign cars at a Ford plant once when I had my old Toyota. Apparently the last guy who didn't park in the 'foreign car parking' area was buffing key scratches out of his car. But now I have an American car so I don't have to worry. Hmm, I wonder if I had put Pontiac badges on my old Toyota if they would have let it pass? LOL

LOLwell, chrysler did something like only chrysler cars parked here, and the other way in the back.. someone got towed and sue, i wish he gets money. it is discriminations. you can not impose people what they should do even if they work for you. it is bull ****.

They took 80% of the lot, starting in the front, for Chrysler's only. The other 20% in the back will be for anything else you decide to drive to work. They told the employees that if you parked in a Chrysler spot, you will get towed to Indianapolis.
Chrysler Kokomo wasn't all that much to rave about the last time I was there. LOL. They are just trying to get their employees to by Chrysler vehicles because most of them drive others.
That's just nuts, man.... There is no way they should have canned him for that - what he does on his own time is none of their business. That's just ridiculous. You're clocked out, you're not in uniform, that's that.

Just playin dude. To each his own, I enjoy a Bud Light every know and again. And I drink Coors. In my opinion it is the second best major domestic out there next to Michelob.

we were pretty bummed out up here in Canada when Molson and Coors merged....and Drunken, add my name to the list of many people that swear that the Bud brewed in canada tastes better than the bud brewed in the US. There is definitely a different flavour up here and there are a few that don't care for it, but you'll have to try it for yourself oneday and let me know.
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!

It's their parking lot, they are allowed to say who can use it. You don't like it, quit.At the Vehicle Engineering Center (VEC) on the Warren Tech Center Campus, you can't park in the parking structure if you don't drive a GM owned product. You get the back lot, and a nice long walk.
I spent 3 months in Canada earlier this year, and I know for a fact that the Bud is better there than here. I can't stand Bud here, but there is was very tolerable. But it didn't beat Keith's or Kilkenny's. The the Warsteiner at the Concordia Club is always a good choice.
