I have this interrogation for you! I will try to be understandable with my english...!I was thinking removing my fog lights because one of them is broken...By doing this, my CAI filter will be "unprotected"... and exposed to MORE "straight cold air"....I was planning to protect the filter with grill or something... But what is the effect on performances... sound... If theire is???I hope I’m understandable enough for you to answer my question.Thank you!mayoo

As for performance, might see some, probably little. Mesh or some kind of grill would be a good idea just to protect it from rocks and other objects. Sound should be the same I would think. Just my opinions, others may have more.

If so, I'll be interested in purchasing the passenger side assembly assuming the lens is not cracked. While my fog light still does work, it needs replacing due to a crack most likely caused by rocks. Let me know, PM me if you're interested in selling the passenger fog light.
eh not worth it. i did this at first with mine when the fog light broke. i took it out and went fogless for awhile. but in the area i live and where you live, water log is an issue. and to be on the safe side with snow, rain and other road junk, i put some aftermarket fogs that were smaller to allow more air. then i took a plastic lid from like a butter container, cut out a piece and put some holes in it so the air could get through but not too much water. really, i saw no real gains for power, but an increase in nasty road grime on the filter. this just made it dirtier and i had to clean it more often.
