Make sure you properly compress your springs!

Post by Mase »

Working in a military medical facility, I get to see some pretty interesting incident reports. Here's one that happened recently when a troop tried to swap his springs out:Quote »22 Apr 05: (SSgt, 412 EMS) Working on vehicle at Auto Hobby shop changing out springs and crushed right pinky finger in suspension. (Compression clamp came off, spring sprung to life crushing his finger) Right pinky finger open fracture – 10 days lost time. Now Class B, finger amputated at first knuckleI've heard of people changing their springs out with out using a compressor at all. That's another big no-no if you value your cheek bones and teeth!

I'm using them to take the springs off but didn't need them to put the new springs on due to the very little compression required.
