2005 Vibe seat issue

Post by Trina »

I have a call out to all other 05 vibe owners ... does your drivers side seat squeak or make noise when you sit in it or if you slighty rock it ? I have this problem in my car and I already had the seat replaced and the noise is still there .. the dealership under the advice from GM checked the other vibes on the lot and the samething in those also .. the seat squeaks ... hmm I wonder if this is a problem that needs attention or a possible recall ?

No squeaking for me. Is it possible that your seat isn't fully locked in?

Have you tried putting a little bit of grease in the seat tracks. My mom's Carolla did the same thing, I took the seat out and put a little grease in the tracks and it fixed it. Of course this depends on if the noise seems to be coming from the tracks.

My '04 did it. I brought it in twice before they fixed it right. The second time I made them give me a rental car for a day. The problem was in the track, not the seat itself.

I had the "rocking seat" on my 2003 Vibe. I lived with it until just before the warranty was up. They had to order a new base which took quite a while. to come in.I had a problem with a rattling noisy power window and had the radio replaced twice - minor stuff. Now the car is out of warranty 70,000 Kms. I still love it and I'm always amazed at the amount of stuff I can load into it.

I get a little creak out of every now and then. Not to loud though, I have to have the radio off to hear it.
