rubber molding or strip not good enough?

I picked up my Vibe last week. I did a thorough PDI and one of the tings I noticed and marked down on the inspection document was the poor fit of the rubber gaskets at the back corners of each of the passenger side windows. By comparison the fit was perfect on the driver side and driver side passenger. The salesperson said nothing could be done as the hard plastic and softer molding is all one piece and could not or was very difficult to fix/replace. She said this was an acceptable fit. The general salesmanager was not present to break the tie . I have attached a picture.What do you think?

I wouldn't replace them. You have 3yr/36K or the Canadian equivalent to see if the get loose or make noise. The fit looks similar to mine. If that's the only problem, you're in awesome shape!

They replaced the front passenger side on mine. The only reason they did it was because water was getting down inside the door when you would roll it down. The one they replaced it with looks exactly like the one you have pictured. I took a look at other cars on the lot and they were the same. If you have it fixed you'll have the same thing, so if it's not leaking water into the door, I'd leave it alone.

get it fixed, you will have wind noise, and probably the windows will rattle when the are part way down. that is not aceptable on a brand new car.

I checked mine out yesterday and found 3 of them with the poor fitting. I just took a small, sharp pair of snips to them and trimmed the excess down. Now they all sit flush against the glass.This could explain why some members found water in their doors while doing a speaker install.

Interesting... I will check mine tonight.Just checked my PT Cruiser since that is the car I drive and it has one belt molding on the top of the door and a second under that, against the glass.I also looked at a 04 Grand AM in the lot and the back passenger door had the fit like you have and in your pic.I would say like Mase did cut them down, ask the dlr and if they say bring it in take your chances the new ones will fit better. Who knows, the dlr may cut them down too and give it back to you.

Looked at the Vibe last night and both the front door belt moldings are like what you have in the pic.Debating on cutting/trimming them... Good eye though I always took it for granted.
