Exhaust System Noise?

My new Vibe (@ 7 miles) has a high frequency vibration noisecoming from below the driver seat. I can only hear it when the engine is at low rpm. It is not a rattle. The sales guys claimed it was normal fuel pump noise. The servise guy claimed it was normal exhaust noise. If this is normal for vibe? Does everybody else have this noise?Thanks.

The Vibe is a very noisy car, wait untill you have a few thousand miles on it, thats when the interior starts to make all kinds of noise. Remember this is a "$20,000 economy car" not a Cadilac. If its a high pitched whine it will be the fuel pump.

This is true, my Vibe is not too bad yet at 5000 but my friend has 2000 miles and it is the most rattling car I have ever encountered, he has to blast the radio just to keep sane from all of the squeaks and rattles

I must just be lucky. THe only rattles/squeaks I have had are in the dash. I haven't had any rattles anywhere else.

This is where I'm starting to regret my purchase. The rattles from everywhere in the car are starting to drive me nuts. The dealer has been uselss so far and I wonder if they can ever fix a single one. I'm about to do it myself, though I fear that voiding the warranty for some reason.BTW, when I took it in, the tech said that they just received a service bulletin about the squeaks and rattles. Said they had to watch a video, but he couldn't remember much about it. I know right there that I was screwed. Kind of remember? This isn't history 101 movie here, this is work training.

It just got very cold in Maryland this week for the first time since I got the Vibe. I heard a few, small, intermittant rattles.No high pitched whine under the driver's seat so far.

i also have rattles in the dash the dealer told me to bring it in cause it is the most common thing with the vibes i just hope they can fix the problem if not i will be pissed

They shouldn't have any problem fixing the problem to your Vibe. My service dept took 3 times to fix mine because they didn't know where it was coming from. They did try though and in the end it was fixed. The most common is the one coming from the bezel. There are a few threads on this here. If they can't fix it you can actually do it yourself as alot of people did here at genvibe.
