a good dealer?

Post by joatmon »

Here is an article about someone who had a good experience in buying their new Vibehttp://www.localtechwire.com/article.cfm?u=11314I can relate to her reaction to taking a test drive, I remember thinking "this car is a blast to drive" when I first drove a Vibe. I didn't have as pleasant of an experience dealing with the sales staff though, I never want to hear from them again. The writer of that article was impressed with the sales staff at that dealer, it would be interesting to find out from her how that dealer follows through with service and warranty coverage.

There is/was a "Nourse" family of dealerships in the Central Ohio area. Probably not related as it is the only dealer I ever walked out on after ten minutes. I called the "owner" but he was in a meeting and never did bother to call me back. This was in 1996. The salesman was stupid and rude. Knew less about the vehicles and rebates etc. than I did. Was smoking as I was talking to him. P.S. Visited the Nourse/Richburg, SC website. They only had 3 Vibes in inventory. One base, one AWD, anf one GT.

Someone should e-mail her (terrigrauer@hotmail.com) and try to recruit her over here.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

The sales staff at my dealership was great too...I sure wish the service department had taken lessons from them. When I was looking at PT Cruisers, the salesman was very high pressure and made me feel uncomfortable as a young female doing her car shopping alone. I felt like he was trying to take advantage of me and thought of me as being a lot more naive than I was. He had pounced on me the second I stepped on the lot and wouldn't leave me alone to just look at vehicles. On the other hand, the Pontiac dealership was a great experience. I looked at every Vibe they had on the lot, and was left alone. When I was ready to be helped, I went in the showroom and someone came right over to help me. There was no pressure, they let me take the test drive by myself, and were very very nice through the whole process. However, the service department has certainly lacked a lot to be desired. In spite of all of those positive letters on their wall in the showroom. Heh.

I had a 1978 Chevette (we've come a long way baby!). I never will forget the prominent sign in that Chevy dealer's dis-service department. It read in big bold letters "WE DON'T HAVE LOANER CARS SO DON'T ASK."
