Grafxwerks stuff, and lots of it! :)

Post by Kari »

Between myself and James with a lot of help from GrafxWerks, Marcie is looking much more customized as of late. She now has flames and a rear hatch Pontiac inlay in bright reflective blue, medium reflective yellow badge overlays, and a nice red (and not so pink anymore!) rear hatch Arrowhead. Plus, the mandatory GenVibe.com pimpage decals applied to the roof rack siderails. I also have one of the other two badge replacement decals James ordered and used as a dash decal, on my dash...it's bright reflective blue with silver trim but I forgot to take a picture. I think it looks pretty cool...I wasn't sure I was feeling the badge overlay on the back hatch at first, but after I got the others on, I liked it better. It looks cool with the blue flames, too.Lots of pictures...Night shots:The blue you see next to the passenger's seat headrest in the above shot is actually the dash decal reflecting on the passenger's side windows.

Looks really nice Kari. The yellow really kicks it out there! I installed mine a few weeks ago and have had many complements. Hopefully a few of the guys that I gave his site to will make a visit. I went for the subtle look. Maybe I'll post a few pics in here myself.

Ok ok, I had absolutely no plans on doing any mods, just found this site my search to find some idea for running my XM antenna wire. Now you all have me hooked. Damn it, damn it anyway. So, um, where do I get some flames and yellow and cool overlays from?

Yeah, the yellow isn't too subtle, is it? LOL I just thought it would look good with the blue flames, and I was impressed, although the yellow was a tad lighter than I had envisioned, it still looks good. Waxing the car right now, about halfway done, and now my right hand doesn't want to work, it's tired. Edit: You can get everything at http://www.grafxwerks.com

Actually I like the look of the blue flame with the yellow. It's unique and I think you did a excellent job color coordinating the two. Here are a few pictures of mine. I used the brushed aluminum and carbon fiber ones. I was going for something soft and Ryan came through with some excellent vinyl graphics. Brushed aluminum outlined Genvibe.com on both sides of the most rear windowsRear hatch carbon fiber vibegt and arrowfront arrow, carbon fiberside door in carbon fiber and cf with brushed aluminum outlined vvtl-isteering wheel arrow in cfKari, if the pictures that I've added to your post is to much for it to open smoothly, I'll take mine out. Just let me know. Just thought that I would add mine here to avoid posting the same thing... If dial-up peps have a problem with to many pictures loading and it taking to long, let me know and I'll delete mine.

Ponyota, where did you get all the other vinyl in the interior? Some of those I have never seen before.

Yeah, the very night we put the flames on, I was thinking, you know, some Kodak yellow badge overlays would look awesome with that. So I ordered them that night. I'm happy with the way it looks...very unique. The pictures are fine from a high speed connection...the dialup people might be the ones to ask.

I'm on dial-up, but not at the moment, since I'm at work. But hey, good job on the pics -- I checked the file sizes and they seem to be good enough for us dial-up'ers. Under 100K is the nice thing to do, and your biggest pic was like 74K. Keep up the good work.

Edited the first post to add a couple of night shots...the white reflective properties of the black GenVibe decal really looks awesome when you look at it in person. That would be a cool effect to put in other places on the car, if only black would look right in one of those places during the day.

It gives alot more depth and stands out much more. I think I'm going to change the vent overlays to the same as I bought for the dash kit. From now on, I'll try to keep 'em small or smaller and still try to keep the quality. Kari, the reflective is really bright! I like it! Lisa (wife) said it looks really cool and she wants me to put reflective black on the hatch inside the "Pontiac". See what you did now?! lolBTW, when your hand feels better, I need a good hand wax on Ponyota if your up to it.... J/K!

LOL...I only manage to wax mine about once a year. It absolutely wears me out. I know it needs it more often, but I just can't do it more often. It took me about 2.5 hours tonight, all total, I think. If I didn't have the cladding to watch out for, though, it would be a lot quicker. That makes it take longer because you have to really watch around the edges.I was surprised by how bright the reflective black is too. It's got this really cool "transition" when you step to the side and view it in reflective and non reflective "modes"...I think you'll like it on the hatch inlay. (Which is a lot easier to install if you have fingernails, BTW )OT: To really get your pics down in size KB-wise, if you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, the "Save for web" option works great for letting you see exactly what size it will end up being and whether or not there will be a quality degradation. That's what I use. It comes highly recommended.

I don't have either of the two programs that you suggested but I do use Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004. I can adjust the kb's and different formats, I just didn't know what the best size was for dial-up users. Lisa is the web guru, she's built several sites for businesses and individuals. I have a tendency to not ask her for advise (my bad). Now that I know I'll be more careful when I post a picture to be kind to the dial-ups. Thanks to you both for the information.

Looks very cool. Wondering why noone makes overlays for the orange spot on our door locks that fade so notoriously. I cut some out of a blue metallic decal and covered them. Looks good.

In a roundabout way, they do. James asked Ryan to make him some, but I'm not sure if it was a product Ryan was going to add to the site or not. They do look cool though!

I've been a slacker, and haven't gotten aronud to contacting Ryan back about those. Shame on me! The ones I had tested were perfect width-wise, but were about 1/16" too long. I'll try to shoot Ryan an e-mail about that... And yes, they do look cool! Especially if the orange sticker on the door lock is all faded like mine....

Very cool! Thanks, Ryan - you rock! Like Kari said, they fit perfectly width-wise... And the top was fine too. Just the bottom was a wee bit too long. Even the rounded corners were just right. I had trouble getting a good measurement on those things when I tried. lol! Sorry for the mix-up there. I'll definitely be buying a set from you once we get this perfected. My orange stickers look goofy all faded out and such. lol!

I really like the genvibe.com logo on the roof-rack rails, I might have to put some of those on mine instead of the windows. Looks pretty sweet!
