There's not much more I can say that hasn't already been said. Install was fairly smooth...I used ZPrime's brick method for removing the plastic ball nut. Aside from that, I loosened the nut on the horizontal shaft a bit to allow me to thoroughly grease both ends...much smoother that way. Shifting is AWESOME now -- much more direct and solid feel. I suppose the weighted knob helps, but I plan on driving a couple days with the stock knob for comparison's sake. Something tells me I might be sending back my TMW knob for a refund -- or an exhchange if they're willing to engrave a 6-speed map on a gun blue knob. Here's a few pics:Thanks a bunch to TWM for a superior product and customer support. I feel the ~$300 I spent for SS + knob are well worth it, although I may end up returning my knob. For a mod that makes a BIG difference, you can't go wrong with this one.more pics: http://photobucket.com/albums/...ifter/
It's great to see another good review. I've had mine in for 1 week now and I think I'm almost completely used to it. I still accidentally scratch into 2nd gear sometimes though. My hand moves faster than my foot, I guess. I have the stock knob though so shifting requires a bit of effort. I still can't imagine going back to the stock shifter.I brought my car in for a 20k check up on Saturday and the service tech sat in the car for about 2mins trying to figure out how the heck to get into reverse! Here's a question...I wonder how much a good engraving shop would charge to put the 6sp pattern on the TWM knob.
I installed mine this weekend, took just under an hour and shifiting was nice after you get used to it. The first bit of driving was wierd cause even though it was like in 2, 4, or 6 it felt like it was in neutral cause it was so far up so I had to get used to the positioning more than anything. The shifting was a piece of cake tho and I really don't think shifting with the stock knob is that difficult just gotta get the mometum from the fast shifting going Anyway did you (Mase) or Christian find that putting the shift cables into the TWM piece was a bit difficult and did it seem like they had to bend slightly more to get into that position than the stock shifter?
Nice job ya'll... Thanks for the pics Christian.. I was on the list to get one but my wife decided to spend the money I had saved on the deductible for the accident....lol. Maybe soon I'll get one of them though. Just need to save some more mad money

I fooled with it for about 10mins just trying to get it angled and clipped back into the TWM bracket. Once I flexed it enough to line up, it slid in like butter.
Personally, I had a bit of problem removing the l/r cable. Putting them back on was easier, but the twisting of the black plastic got annoying with greasy fingers lol I must amend my review though...I DO think the TWM knob helps a lot. put it back on at lunch and took a drive, and man, I could feel the difference vs. stock. It just contributes to the solid steel feel of the SS itself. Every gear seems to slide in even easier. My only beef is that I wish it were a little bigger. Overall, this has been one of my most satisfying mods to date
