As long as the alcohol is completely dry and there is no residue Armor All or anything else on the dash, it should stick...I wouldn't think the adhesive would be any different from anything else you might be sticking to the dash.

yeah, i let the alcohol dry completely, and it stuck, but then when i attach the other piece of velcro to it, it pulls right off with it. it's even "industrial strength" velcro.i really don't want to resort to hot glue.

What are you trying to stick to the dash with the velcro? Just curious. You might try double-sided sticky tape if it would serve the purpose, or else get one of those "sticky pad" things that are made to hold your cell phone and sunglasses and such on the dash.

i never had any success getting things to stick to the dash. i have one of those sticky pads to hold cell phones and such. it works great in the sube, but didn't work well in the vibe because of that stupid slanting of the dash. good luck! the only thing i can think of is getting one of those window suction cup things to mount it. unless you want to put screws in your dash, i don't think you'll get anything to stick. try this place for oddball mobile products. http://www.yourmobiledesk.com/

well, it's a 7" lcd screen, so it's not real heavy, and i know the huge strip (like 3"x6") of industrial strength velcro would hold it up, if it would only stick to the dash i've got a bracket that sticks out of the top of the glove box, but i just don't like how it looks when the screen isn't there, and the angle isn't quite right for viewing.with the velcro, i was gonna fabricate something to put on the velcro when the screen wasn't there, like a piece of stainless with the vibe logo etched on it or something.

the problem with the "industrial strength" velcro is that it will stick to itself better then the adhesive will stick to whatever you put it on. I've had this problem in the past. It will stick to the dash, but when you try to pull it off, the velco doesn't let go as easily as the adhesive will.

It's too heavy for the adhesive, not the velcro, as said. The dash just isn't very good for sticking anything to. I guarantee it would 'melt' off during the summer. The panavise mount is an idea to consider, for sure, or the pro-fit, which has it lower. Also, don't forget, having full-motion video in view of the driver while the vehicle is in motion is illegal in all states.
