Stern "Sirius"-ly turns off Hyundai customers

Post by ColonelPanic »

Quote » A surprising number of Hyundai customers have told the Korean manufacturer they didn't want Sirius Satellite Radio installed in their vehicles because they didn't want to listen to Howard Stern.http://www.edmunds.com/insidel...05622Heh.... Good thing I already have my Sirius, so that's going in the Sonata when I get it. Odd how people are against an entire brand just because of one program that they aren't going to be forced into listening, and isn't even on the air yet.... I love Sirius, but I sure as hell won't be listening to Stern when he comes on.

Yep.... While they're at it, boycott Pepsi because they think Diet Pepsi sucks. Sirius plays a bunch of crap I can't listen to -- so that's why I have those channels blocked on the receiver and I never have to hit any of 'em while surfing channels.

No Howard Stern for me either...I heard one of the DJs say that one night and I was thinking, "Did I hear that right?" Sure enough, the next day, I heard it again... Someone, please, help me contain my excitement. Because being able to watch it on TV just wasn't enough...heh.But completely passing Sirius up just because of Howard Stern? Crazy. That's like not getting cable because you don't like a certain show. Are they even giving him his own channel or is the show just coming to Sirius? Either way, it's not like there aren't 149 more channels to choose from if Howard ain't your thing...LOL.Oh well, we can just tell all of those people how much we enjoy the other 149 channels...

I like the factory installs of Sirius, but nothing preventing a hookup of a PNP or aftermarket headunit otherwise. But yeah, he's getting his own channel.. actually 3 eventually from what I've heard on the Sirius forums.Quote, originally posted by Kari »Oh well, we can just tell all of those people how much we enjoy the other 149 channels... I agree. Plenty of variety to choose from. I've had Sirius for 2 years now (or something like that) and still haven't really listened to the entire lineup yet.

I've only had it for about a week and a half (thank you Mr. Panic ) and I'm already having a great time, so yeah, those people are nuts! However, I do think giving Howard Stern THREE channels is kind of overkill...just a tad.
