Clicking Sound while Braking

Post by BlueCrush »

I have an '05 AWD and I have just noticed a clicking sound coming from the rear of the car when braking slowly. While Braking hard it doesn't do it. I'm guessing its the Brakes. Everything at the rear of the vehicle is stock except for the muffler. Anyone else have a similar sound?

This is gonna sound stupid, but it actually happened. I had a clicking noise when I braked, could feel it a bit in the pedal too. Took it to the dealer...they said that some stones (from my driveway) had gotten up in there somewhere (I don't remember the exact spot) and was causing the problem. I didn't believe them at first and had to pay for the visit because such things are not covered under the warranty. He kept the rocks and showed me. Hasn't happened again...could be something that simple, sorry I can't tell you where to look.Told you it was going to sound stupid

Not stupid at all. It is quite possible that it could be a small rock.MNDOT has been filling the billions of potholes up here. Basically they just fill the hole with the tar rock mixture and leave it loose. Then the cars get to flatten and compress the tar filling. I hate it! I have tar and rock stuck all around the wheel well. I will take off the wheel and check the brakes for rocks. Thanks!

Hey no problem, I thought they were crazy when they told me that, trying to get out of something, you know...I just wish I could tell you exactly where they pulled them out of...

Hi...Also read this...http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=13383That's my situation with the back brakes. My back brakes are disc brakes though. But bleeding the brakes is a relatively simple taskDave
