Want to change out my stereo...

Post by Leadfoot212 »

Ok, I have reserched the forums and my eyes hurt! lol Anyway, I have a base model 2005 Vibe, no M&T, just the basic CD player/radio. So is all I need to install a new stereo (besides someone who knows what they're doing):Metra 70-2003 (wire harness)Metra 40-GM10 (antenna adapter)Metra 99-8205 (install kit)(Have part #'s changed???)I am not into different speakers or anything like that, they sound fine to me. I'm sure there's better but I'd much rather spend some $$ on a stereo that will play mp3's also. Thanks!

That looks about right. Also, most of Pioneer's 2005 model radios will play MP3's, they're great quality, very powerful, and very good sounding for a very good cost. I highly reccomend any version of them.Speakers you can probably wait on, you'll have to replace them eventually, as they'll either get blown, or simply start to disentegrate. Mostly because they're made out of paper and cardboard.. but, for the meanwhile, no need to change them right away.

get a pioneer MP3 unit ... I have the 550 (Premier) series ... it's really good. You shouldn't need speakers, the headunit will make it sound better anyways.then all you'd need is the wire harness and maybe a bezel to go around.
