Does anyone know if they make an a/m plug n play chip for the PT Cruiser?

Post by AKLGT »

My boss is looking to find out if they have one because his car is completely underpowered and is only getting 20 mpg if he's lucky! seems pretty low for a 4 banger, only 150 hp. anyone know if they have one available? i tried googling it, but it's just a bunch of junk like e-bay.

Most of the PT Cruiser forums on the net are big on appearance stuff, but short on increasing performance or tech talk. http://www.ptcrew.com is the exception to that...they've got a lot of tech and performance chatter going on there.Or he can try http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/ to look for links...there's a LOAD of PT-related links there to forums, parts shops, etc. From browsing around, it looks like there are loads of basic stuff that he can do...intake, exhaust, plug wires & coil (from what I've read the stock ones aren't that great on PT's), and there's aftermarket turbo kits as well as supercharger kits available.PT's aren't known for their gas mileage, so he's probably not going to see much of a jump in mileage...20 mpg seems about what most people get in those around town, maybe 25 highway.

What? You haven't convinced your boss to buy a Subaru yet?

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
