Basic CD/Radio equilizer memory??

Post by x y scaling »

I have read the book, but I can't seem to figure out how to save or assign different equilizer settings to #1 #2 #3 or #4 equilizer settings on the radio. Maybe I've got the wrong idea here?? I've noticed that when I save a station to a # button that it seems to save the equilization setting in use at that time. Right?? Wrong??Even though I'm 62 years old, I'm not computer and/or electronics "dumb"......... well, not too dumb, well, whatever!!. LOL Thanks, Tom

I don't know if it's by preset, or if it's by source, like radio, cd, tape, etc...

Wrong??You can save a set of equalizer settings (bass, mid, treble) to equalizer presets 1 thru 4.You are correct about the radio presets:When you save a radio station to a preset 1 thru 6, it remembers which EQ preset (1-4) you have set at the time. Whenever you hit the preset for a radio station, it also changes to the EQ preset you saved with it - ie 101.1 FM EQ 2 102.1 FM EQ 4When you switch to CD from Radio, it also remembers what was the EQ setting you were using last time you listened to the CD.Now - I don't remember how to save EQ settings to an EQ preset. I did that when I got the car, and haven't changed it since! I'll play with it tonight and post unless someone who remembers beats me to it.Cheers

When you save a radio station preset, it also saves the equalization settings with the frequency, so when you use the preset button, it loads the station and the EQ setting. You can also save equalizer settings, independent of tuner presets. THe owner's manual says Quote, originally posted by [2004 owners manual pdf" »EQ (Equalizer): Press this button to select customizedbass, mid, and treble equalization settings. You can set up to six customized equalization settingsby performing the following steps:1. Turn the radio on.2. Use the TONE button and the SELECT knob tocreate the desired equalization.3. Press and hold the EQ button for two seconds.SELECT EQ # will appear on the display and theEQ symbol will flash.4. Press EQ or turn the SELECT knob to select thedesired EQ number.5. Press and hold the EQ button or push the SELECTknob to store the equalization setting and thenumber. You will hear a beep and EQ SAVED willappear on the display.6. Repeat the steps for the other EQ settings andnumbers.EQ 5 has been programmed at the factory for use withtalk radio, but it can be preset to a different tone.so, set the EQ to the setting you want to save, press and hold the EQ button for a couple of seconds, use the knob to select which of the six EQ presets you want to save it as, and press the EQ button again. At least that's what the owners manual says, I haven't tried it in a while

Joatmon's got it, though I'm reposting it in my own words since you said you had trouble with the manual. Sometimes for me, seeing things written several different ways finally makes it click:1) Set the Bass, Mid, Treble to what you want2) Press and hold "EQ" button until it beeps3) Press and release the "EQ" button to change the preset number on the display4) Repeat step 3 until the EQ preset number you want to save to appears next to EQ on the display5) Press and hold "EQ" button until it beeps - it's now savedPS - Welcome to Genvibe, Tom. You look great in your picture, BTW!
