Is it just me? More Vibes on the road?

Post by x y scaling »

Hi, I left Nashville about 8 o'clock this morning and traffic was very light. Loved it. Anyway, before I got to the Alabama line, a total of 5 Vibes passed me. I was only driving around 70. No, there was not a Matrix in the bunch. This was a big surprise to me, especially since it was Sunday morning and very little traffic. I followed a 04' Plat. (same color as my 05') for about 100 miles. Then she turned off of I-65. Just wonder if any of you have noticed this jump in Vibe population?? see ya, Tom BOh yea, Gotta tell you how much I LOVE this car. Soooooooo much quieter, better riding, much less wind noise, much more comfortable seats, more rear leg room, more "fun" to drive, etc., etc., than my older Chevy Blazer. All that and 37 m.p.g. I love it!!

You are correct. I went to the local Home Depot today and seen 3 vibes in the parking lot. On the way home I spotted another 3 with in a couple miles from home. BTW, welcome to genvibe.

Nope, not around here... I'm still able to go at least a week without seeing any other than mine. Hardly anyone around here wants one of these cars, even the dealers really don't have any to sell... The dealer I used to go to, they were lucky to have 3 new ones on the lot. The one I'm at now has maybe 5-10 if that sitting on the lot. Now, if I go up the road a couple hours, I can see a few more... But definitely not here, the locals aren't interested in Vibes...

Well, there ARE thousands of Vibes out there on the roads, and the number keeps increasing by thousands each month, BUT...IMHO I think you're more likely to notice Vibes now that you own one, and you recognize the shape (profile, front, back) easily.I've noticed the same effect with each new vehicle I acquire: When I got an '86 Olds, it seemed there were TONS of '86 Cieras on the road*, when I got a '96 Ford, I especially noticed '96 Tauruses...---------------------*actually, there WERE, because Olds Cieras were a popular rental fleet vehicle!

I usually see one or two whenever I'm out driving around...most of what I see are '03-'04s...very few are '05s. I should start carrying my GVC fliers around again so I can distribute them when I see Vibes in parking lots...maybe we'll get a few new members out of the deal. I do see a lot more Vibes in Southwest Ohio than I do in East Tennessee though...

I see Vibes all over the Grand Blanc, Flint and Swartz Creek, MI area, so it seems they've become quite popular around here.

I'm starting to see 05's around here now. For the longest time (since Oct 04) I never saw another 05; now they're starting to pop up.

After I got mine last fall, I used to see them 1-2 times a week. Now I see 1-2 perday. I attribute it to the higher gas prices and the good looks of the Vibe.

I see Vibe pretty much everydays now on. When I walk in downtown to deposit money in bank, I always see at least four Vibes in parking meter. On way home from Rock Fall, IL, we passed eight Vibes on I-80 to I-94 East.

What I have found is before I buy a vehicle I don't notice them. Once I own a car (Vibe) I tend to notice them all over. Same thing happens with my Montana. Also, I notice more 1st gen Firebirds or earl 2nd gen Camaros but since I own both others tend to jump out at me. Kinda like I'm a bloodhound.

There are more Vibes here in Southern Ontario for sure. In our area, the Vibe sales are crazy. Best seller for sure. There are virtually no rebates on this car when you purchase here in Niagara, they are so hot. The dealers can't even get a used one on the lots.

I'm seeing tons of them. A bit of a change, as I was one of the first in the area to have one. Now we bought a new car for my wife, and are now seeing tons of Freestyles on the road as well.

We bought our Vibe about a month ago - I'd say a lot more people have started driving them since then! (OK, maybe we just notice them more...)
