Sounds like maybe the saleslady was threatening you with a call from the manager, as if that would make you come in and drop an extra $500. Maybe she was afraid to tell him about her mistake, and you calling the manager put her on report. Or at least we can hope so. In Maryland, the actual official title can take weeks to arrive. At some point you should be able to call the DMV or MVA or whatever acronym they use where you live and check that it's in the works
Great news - got a call from the dealer today, the finance manager is actually the one who called me. He said the dealership was going to eat the $500, that I was correct in my argument that the dealership should have checked the incentives first. He said they would get my paperwork in the mail to me today or tomorrow (which would include my title application and registration) - so see they were holding it up for a week or so!! I was trying to be nice so I appologized to him and told him I was not trying to cheat the dealership and that I would gladly have paid for it if they let me know about it when we did the contract. He agreed with me and said I was absolutely correct in how this was handled. I then told him to tell my saleslady sorry we did not see eye to eye (what was I thinking?) and he kinda laughed and didn't say anything. My read on that - she probably got a big reaming and they are not too happy with her right now!So --- saga closed with a happy ending! Thanks to everyone for your words of wisdom and support. Now I can relax and start doing fun stuff to my Vibe - first project will be installing the adapter so that I can plug in my ipod. And this forum is so great that I have already figured out how to do it just by reading the different topics on here.
Congrats on getting to finally ENJOY your car, without that $500 clud hanging over your head. Glad that we were able to assist, and glad you got to keep your car and your money.
