the application time is nothing at all..the real timw is the wait time for the drying before the wheels can be put back on...took mine almost 8 hours to dry, and according to the dupont box i had to wait 24 hours to drive it...which i did.

I would never do any color except for red, no matter what color the car is.

Be careful, as I said to everyone else planning on painting the calipers, wince you live in Canada teh road salt may chip them. Here is what mine looked like after this past winters beating:BTW this is rare and easily fixed, all I have to do is repaint the exposed parts. I tried to scrape the rest of the paint off with a wire bristle brush and it wouldnt even flake off so I think it's on tehre pretty good.

I picked blue. I think that it would be more subtle than a bright red.

Hey Polo...A good idea would be to try to match something else you have on the Vibe... Like TheWhite who is matching his springs. A Silver paint would give the most subtle look, but probably won't really be noticed at all. I have an Abyss, painted mine Gold because I was going to try to repaint all my aluminum emblems an anodized gold. I gave that whole idea up but even though nothing else is Gold on my Vibe, the Gold on the calipers makes them stand out slightly yet give them a somewhat "aftermarket" look. As far as paint though, look into the G2 system. I think Dupli-color has a similar system for calipers but this paint is fairly durable. Many colors to choose from.Took me maybe 4 hours or so to do both front and back. Did the fronts first in about 4 coats brushed on. Then lifted the back. Do it in shade or in a garage with plenty of ventilation. The paint fumes are potent. Do it early in the day and let em dry over night. Try not to drive for at least 24 hours, if not more. Just read the instructions carefully of whatever type of caliper paint you use.Dave

i was thinking of going with blue, myself, but like you guys, i have to wait for a day i don't need the car. actually two days...one day to paint, one day to dry. its a great look, but i'm wondering what the rear drums would look like all blue...maybe blue calipers and black drums.
