I replied fascia only mostly because since there aren't a lot of bugs out now, the hood is rather clean, except for about 15 chips!!! It seems it just takes time to get the stains off. My hood was also occasionally protected by a bra type hood protector. Just got back from SC, only traveled with it on, both directions had rain... Now I have a definite stain in the hood paint, not from bugs though, from apparent moisture from the hood protector. I remember this happening to the plastic fascia parts the first Summer I used the full Bra.. Looked like it was whitening the black paint in spots. Thought I screwed up my paint but it came out eventually. Hoping this rather large moisture stain will come out on the hood too!Dave
I didn't take the poll since you did say Abyss owners only...but I do have several spots on the front end of my Neptune that are bug remains, and they won't come off, even with the GM bug and tar remover.
I said Abyss owners because I was told Friday by the company that does full vehicle details for auto dealers before taking cars to auction that ANYONE's (Toyota, Pontiac, ect) black metallic paint was very easy to stain, and very very hard to get clean....that I might even have to have my Fascia and Hood painted!Edited for clarity of thought.

My Abyss is only 1 month old an I have chips on the hood. Actually noticed most when I picked it up, dealer is going to paint the hood for me, but I've noticed a few other spots elsewhere...
Last year was the pits for bug splatter! Every time I drove the car in the evening I had to wash off the front of it before coming home. If I would leave it on there for 1 or 2 days it would actually eat at the clear coat. I had to use a lot of bug remover and elbow grease to get those bug guts off my front end. The clay bar does help remove them. I always put a extra coat of wax on the front in the summer to help with removal of those pests. I'm really not sure that it helps. Don't forget to re-protect your paint with some wax after using a bug remover on your car.
Well, the verdict is in, the detail was done today. The bumper cover MUST be painted and the hood touched up. Not sure how well this shows, but that is about what 75% of the fascia looks like.

maybe we should start a national go out and buy a bug zapper week. That'll take care of the problem.I've got some serious splatter on my front end because I have been driving a lot the last month.
I own a mono abyss and i have the same problem. ironically it seems the splatters are in the same place on both our cars. My guy at the body show i got my wreck fixed at confirmed that the paint was damaged and needed to at the least be wet sanded and recleared.
