Here ya go, for your viewing pleasure!I think they turned out nice....there's some imperfections in the engine cover, but you have to get close to see 'em....the silver was done with VERY careful masking (and countless hours of going cross-eyed masking inside the "6" and the "A")What do ya think? I contemplated doint the air box too, but I'm just gonna put a CAI in there, so maybe it's not worth it.
I used Rustoleum Metallic spray....not sure if it'll hold up, but It has so far. The Cobalt Blue Metallic is almost an exact match to the Neptune color....it's almost scary.
wow, oh wow!!! you make me want to do the same to my car, in red to fit the Strut tower brace and the CAI, but after one summer and one winter, my engine looks like this, so I think it won't worth the time...
Well, As long as you keep it clean in there once in a while, you shouldn't have a problem...as for the grills, they're Billet Aluminum Grill Insertts from Mr. Grille...got mine off eBay...they look great and set off the front end nicely

I sprayed both...you're gonna want to sand them down a little to give the primer some tooth. I used Rustoleum Metallics...not sure how well they'll hold up with the heat....it's a waiting game to see how they do. So far...no troubles...I'll let you know.BTW...if you wanted the same color, I used "Cobalt Blue Metallic"
I'm not sure if it's made for plastics or not, but I did use a plastic Primer (can't remember which one off the top of my head). I'll look when I get home. I'll tell ya just what I used.
Wow!! I'm speechless... I added to my list things to do in the future. Turn out very nice and look really sharp. You did really great job. How long take you to completed?
Well, my completion time was slightly longer than usual. My first coat of primer peeled like a banana and I had to get it off. Make SURE you thoroughly wash the parts in warm soapy water (twice to be sure). Also, it wouldn't hurt to lightly sand the plastic before you put the primer on. Finishing time should take you about 1 afternoon into the evening. I did my fuse cover in a few hours (including drying time). That's with 2 coats of primer, at least 3 coats of paint and 3 coats of gloss. Thanks for the compliments on the paint job. I did the lettering the hard way (masked everything by hand). You could use the vaseline trick, or get Vinyl letters, but I wanted the vertical sides of the letters silver too...almost makes it look like a separate piece. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
i didnt use a primer on mine, just washed it and sanded it. put about 5 coats of paint and about 3 coats of clear coat. i hand painted the lettering with some testors metallic red paint, no masking!i'll try to find pics of mine. i think i posted one last year when i did it.
