I am looking at the BF Goodrich g-Force KDW tires for my 2003 Vibe GT. I have the 16" wheels, so I would be getting the 205/ZR55 16 tires. The Contis are shot at 27k miles.I would welcome any comments from anyone who has run the g-Force tires on the Vibe. Noise, tread wear, handling, etc.I am also considering the Goodyear Eagle HP tires.
I read the reviews on Tire Rack and the posts here and here's what I learned and what I decided. The g-force KDW has no mileage rating from BFG, meaning no warranty. These tires are a little different from the Traction T/A. Looked at Goodyears - pretty much the same story. The reviews all stated there was a lot of noise from these tires, and I am guessing I would get maybe 25k out of these (BFG or Goodyear). My boss has a VW GTW which he races on the weekend, and he even told me the g-Force would not last long. Since I am not racing, and I don't want to replace tires again in two years, I kept looking.I looked at the Michelin HydroEdge. They are very highly rated by current users, and they have a 90k manufacturer's warranty. Users said handling was great and noise was not a factor with these tires. I live in Southeast Louisiana, so winter is not a factor. When it rains here the roads are hazardous. All in all, I feel like I made the right choice, given all the information I compared. I will post again after I get the tires mounted and run them for a while.I ordered a set of 4 HydroEdge online at Sam's Club - $115.00 each. The g-Force KDW was $121 at Sam's Club.
Sounds like you made a good choice. I went with the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 last year (for my summer tire choice). So far the ride quality and wear on the Michelin's are much better than my previous tires (Yokohama).Michelin Pilot Sport PS2: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...t+PS2
