Well, as if I wasn't already convinced that the Vibe is practical, I am really singing its praises now. I just moved across town, took an interstate trip with my mom and my girlfriend for the holidays, and came back to finish the move. I am exhausted, but the Vibe showed no sign of slackin'.I packed untold loads of plastic storage bins/cardboard boxes/loose clothes/unwieldy objects/Dr. Pepper in the Vibe, and was amazed every time at how much I could fit in the back. Even the space under the folded-down back seats was incredible - I was always reminding myself to load some stuff under there. Then, when I had to pack presents and luggage for a 12-hour drive to Mississippi (with two passengers), the Vibe came through again. When Mom showed me the sheer amount of stuff we had to fit, I felt a very real despair. I lowered the narrower of the rear seats and judiciously packed the cargo compartment full. There ended up being just enough room, and the grandparents were amazed as we kept bringing in armloads of gear. I got a lot of looks while on the road and at shopping centers. One guy at a central Florida Chick-Fil-A that we were eating at spotted my Vibe parked outside, and excitedly motioned a coworker over to see it. I had a near miss with a highway patrolman lurking in a median, but I guess my 10 MPH over the limit wasn't a big enough bounty for his taste. Now I'm back at work, and have to start moving my girlfriend's stuff tonight. I just can't get over how this cool little car has played such a huge role in these last two backbreaking weeks. By the way, I got a new mileage record, too: One particular tank of gas got me from Daphne, AL to the southernmost Ocala exit in Florida. The trip meter for that tank read 389 miles. This was with myself, two other passengers and a whole lot of cargo. I can't complain, and thought I'd pass along my praises for anyone considering this excellent vehicle.

That's SUPER It's great to read testimonials about the Vibe, especially since I have one. My vibe has come in more handy than the truck I had before. It was wonderful to move my new TV from Bestbuy in the rain. If I had my truck still it wouldn't have made it to my house that day because it would've gotten ruined by the weather. That sure is great gas mileage. I haven't made it that high. My highest on one tank was 362 miles between jacksonville and Pensacola on I-10.

Thanks, folks. I see my faux whining paid off This is the kind of post I was looking for when thinking about whether or not to buy a Vibe. I had a 2000 GMC Jimmy SLS which I LOVED, and I could not conceive that the little Vibe car would come close to its cargo capacity.Well, I was wrong. You can put taller things in the Jimmy, but then you can't see. As far as usable cargo space, the Vibe wins, the main reason being that there's no interior-mounted spare tire in the way. To anyone considering a Vibe: you can put a LOT more stuff in there than you'd ever imagine from looking at photos, or even seeing on in person. I highly suggest you visit a dealer and pop open the hatch to see what I mean. This vehicle is just well-designed for real-life use.
