I had no choice when I bought my Vibe, but the dealer stuck their little advertisement on the back lower left portion of the hatch. It is not a decal to say, it's almost like thin tape spelled out with their dealership name.Check this picture http://nicksimkins.com/vibe/vibe_envy5.jpg for an example of what it looks like. Look in the lower left corner of the hatch. Sorry if the clarity isn't well, but I didn't get a chance to take a detailed shot of my actual Vibe. How do I remove this stuff? Tips and techniques are appreciated!
I'm not totally sure what is the best way to take it off. When I ordered my Vibe I asked the dealer not to put their decal on, but once it finally came I noticed they put it on. I asked them to take it off and they pealed it right off. I don't mind the license plate brackets, because once I got my real tags, I just took it off, but those decals are annoying and a pain to remove sometimes. Enjoy your new Vibe.Justin
Justin 2003 Vibe GT - Mille Miglia Evo5 18x8 Wheels (now stock)- Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust (now stock)- Tein S-Tech Springs (now stock)- Injen CAI - Red Painted Calipers - Hella Supertone Horns - Polk Speakers - Bazooka RS8A-HP Sub - Kenwood Headunit - Still love my Vibe, but I've just turned it back into a basic daily driver.
The first day you get the vehicle just use your finger nail and it will come off. The longer you wait the harder it is to come off since the sun starts to bake it on.
Well I tried to peel off the lettering and to my surprise they almost felt like they were just laying on the paint itself. It took little effort to remove the decals.I just buffed out the area after it was removed and waxed the area and everything looks good. Thanks for the help.
Had no choice?!? I would never have accepted the car if the dealership didn't take it off first. Sure you can take it off yourself, but I would much rather have them do it. You are also paying for customer service. Now onto de-badging!! What should I take off?? The Vibe GT sign on the trunk or on the side. Decisions, decisions.
I thought I would post this since it works do well: when I got my Maxx, I forgot to tell the dealer to NOT put any sticky decals on my car. Well, I got one, and just read how to get it off the car. I just took mine off 10 minutes ago, and it is quick and easy: If you have a raised plastic dealer logo on the back of your car, heat it up with a hair dryer for 2 minutes. Once hot (do not touch it), drag a piece of dental floss behind the plastic. With a little wiggling, the floss will cut through the sticky glue bar on the back, and your logo falls off. You can then remove the rest of the glue residue by using your thumb to rub it off. I read this on edmunds.com, tried it, and thought I'd share it with you all.
