what tranmission fluuid yuo guys use? i know there's one that's called delco, but i can't find it anywhere. so i'm wondering what kind of tranmission fluid that i can use other then delco.
If you have an automatic, you MUST use type T-F. It's available at the Toyota dealerships if your GM dealer doesn't carry it. DON'T use Dextron III or IV.....it can cause slippage and evantual transmission failure!!

From my knowledge, Toyota was starting to make transmissions where you never had to change the trans fluid or check it or something on that order.I know the smaller GM automatics are like that... At least they were a few years ago. The larger cars seem to still have dip sticks. Those dipsticks deciding to not install a dipstick is a stupid excuse for saving 50 cents a friggin' car. My Malibu lacked one, and I had no clue whether it was safe to drive the damn thing when the tranny sprung a leak. All the dealer could say when I asked them about it was "uh, if the thing doesn't shift anymore, you need fluid." You could check the fluid alright- if you brought it in to the dealer. they had to raise the thing on the lift and screw around underneath... Sheesh. I guess if the transmission didn't leak it would be a good idea in theory. But I have yet to see a leakproof automatic. "Sealed for life" my (removed)! I haven't heard Toyota doing this, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were... Anything to save a buck or two and gain a couple from having to make the dealer check your fluid. rant over. Maybe someone with an '05 can chime in to say whether they have a dipstick or not, I'm guessing they do... But you never know!

(removed) partsguy! Don't forget they're also out there peddling their various APC riceboy wares. So, one must spend the extra $$$ at the dealer for the stuff...
